Delivering a baby DOES cost a bomb. My son, even with minimal intervention and natural birth still brought the bill up to RM 5xxx. However since the company I work for allows me to claim up to RM 3k of the maternity cost, I just have to top up around 2,xxx. Still a lot of money, but less than RM 10k

So once I clear a bit of those debts and make sure Jr's education fund etc is set up and all I may have just enough for one last console...if not, look for me at the nearest 7-11, late night shift, lol.

In the meantime, get Harvey on the PSP to keep you entertained.

I still have a few borrowed PSP games to keep me entertained. Muahahahah!

Well it depends. I definitely had LESS than 50k in ALL my accounts when I got married - but I was lucky cause my wife's family and herself didn't really care for the big kenduri and hantaran and all, so for all that we spent around RM 10 k only (7 for hantaran+kenduri, the rest miscellaneous expenses).

Other than that, I was already paying for my apartment, so we didn't have to buy a new house or anything like that. It's kinda hard to adjust to a life where every expenditure has to be planned for, especially with the baby these days I have to be very careful of splurging on anything.

Still...there's always hope

Oh yeah, by the way I originally planned to get more income before having kids - but if I really stuck to that, I probably wouldn't have had one till I'm in my late 40s I didn't do too well in the job market at first. As long as the priorities are right, you should be okay.
