Hey guys, I heard that it's signal reception is very bad and the SAR value is very high, will it affect our health with such value? Sorry it's too noob to ask these question. Coz i really going to get this phone instead of n82...
and and... how about the battery life? If normal use or light use can last for 3 days? planning to get one 8GB for it...

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jun 26 2008, 04:47 PM) Its easy. There are two ways to do it. 1. Open up your browser, connect to the internet (via WIFI or 3G/data plan), type in www.youtube.com and it'll bring you there. 2. You can use a program called CorePlayer with flv support. You got to buy it though. Basically coreplayer will give you a better rendering quality. I've tried streaming on browser and the quality isn't good. A lot of artifacts. But my comments on coreplayer is based on assumptions from hearsay. I have not personally used coreplayer yet. So take it as it is. So have you been able to connect to any WIFI? If you aren't, there could be a problem. Try a full reset. wow... so the firmware now supporting flash lite 3 already or youtube detect the it's a mobile version and load the mobile version youtube? let's say it's embedded in somebody's webpage? Still able to load? I'm noob in symbian phone... need to learn, but i scare now no stock, wish to get my G900 soon.... red and black oso ok ^^ Oh ya have been heard that the speaker very nice and loud. I think it's true but how loud is it? Louder than n80?

QUOTE(amdx @ Jul 3 2008, 11:08 PM) panasonic88, i think this little e71 will last me for months. getting old d... honestly, not much phones really impress me nowadays. but to be franked, since this is G900 thread... i would say... G900 is the best buck to get phone.. if you want touch screen UIQ3. **as if you don't mind the WLAN B -only-** the only drawback.. i found in G900.. is the slight lag on touch response, and some of the great features hv been stripped down, especially the great Task Manager found in M600i and P1i has been replaced by a simple version. you can't close all apps with one single tap on the screen. maybe SE intends to offer UI simplicity to its consumers.. but for existing m600i/p1i users might find it abit lacking.. especially on those great operating features just my 2 cents though. i remember i got my p910i at rm2k+ previously... apa pun tadak. no EDGE.. no WIFI... VGA camera. heh.. this one.. bundled with bluetooth headset.. wifi... great speaker.. finger navigation... apa mao? correctly if i'm mistaken. But G900 supports wifi B and G. ^^

QUOTE(amdx @ Jul 4 2008, 01:13 AM) G900 only support B. no G, as per printed on the box itself. the same goes to P1i.. only B. get a G-wireless router and try to hook on urself to believe it. I still don't know why ppl still think it supports G. perhaps a sony ericsson dev's site would give some tech. specs in a little detailed? http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/glo...g900/p_g900.jspSo you tried using a router broadcasting only G band? Erm... perhaps something miss out with the website and the box itself. Normally, you sure check the white paper of the phone, since it shows the most detailed information of the phone. Anyone can clarify? here's the screenshot of G900 whitepaper comparing the spec of G900 and P1i,
Here's the whitepaper, (I'm not sure it's legal to distribute, if cannot pls tell me ^^)

LOL! Just got myself a Dark Red G900 today, TS please at my name if there is a name list. I bought it in Lowyat shop called Mobile Arena, since they able to discount for me (but I think mine is display set). I bought it at RM1430 + RM20 (for a good screen protector worth RM30) + Sandisk M2 4GB card in Sri Comp at RM89. It is full package including original Bluetooth Headset, stereo headset and other cables. (**It's AP set**)
Ok, let me do a simple review of what I think of the phone after using for 8 Hours.
First of all, G900 supports G band for WIFI. My router is set for broadcasting only G band for very long time already and old laptop with only B band wifi card can't even connect my network, but G900 can connect it without any problem at all.
Ok, let's go to another point. If you're kind of person who's fast in navigating non-OS phone (means ur action is faster than the system respond), G900 will be disappoint you. The speed of G900 is average, not to say very fast but it doesn't hang (hard reset kind). When you're doing something that will affect the whole system, you will get urself a hang situation (but it actually doesn't hang, you just need to wait). Changing themes can be scary and slow. Overall speed is "so so".
About the camera, G900 was said to have the worst camera in 5MP cameraphone history. However, if the light condition is ok, this photo quality will be quite decent. Video recording in QVGA resolution (320x240) at 15 fps, if you're not moving too fast with the camera, the quality of the video can be decent as well. Speaker, loudness is cool but the speaker has best sound quality at 70 to 80% volume. G900 produces loudness at the same level with my w810i when w810i is 100%, G900 80%. Anything above 80% volume will causes noise.
Navigating is such a headache for new symbian user. Cause G900 allows you to view your media files in 2 diff way. One is thru File Manager (zooming picture can be painful) , one is the media manager. Media manager requires you to update the library everytime you modify your files. For people like me who too used to non symbian phone will be very confusing.
Quality and build of the phone is average, the houseing doesn't feel like a high end model. Keypad can be more solid and there are no touch sensitive button over the 3 white dot. Whenever you wanted to select the option above the 3 white dot, you need to touch the touch screen but not the white dots.
As for connectivity, bluetooth is at normal speed as all SE phones. WLAN is easy to connect and fast. But Opera browser doesn't performs good in non fit-to-screen mode. It's quite laggy for any website.
Oh ya, there are only 3 alarms available so if you want more you need to download other software for it.
Can't think of anything to write at the moment. But I have few questions, how can I make sure that the phone using only WIFI to surf net but not 3G? I not dare to activate my 3G first because of this.
And and... overall of this phone....is above average and it's pretty good if you compare the speed and touch screen responsive with P1i.

QUOTE(driftmeister @ Jul 12 2008, 09:12 AM) yup yup, it's AP. AP company from CS. 15 months warranty for phone, 12 months for LCD. And one more thing, I've been putting the brightness to 30% but my G900 still suck alot of battery. Is it becoz the first time I charge wasn't fulfill the 8 hrs requirement? or is there such requirement? I think with medium usage the phone can't last for one whole day. Providing I always close all the programs in task manager after I've used it. Will it be improvement in future? if like that G900 battery really isn't good.

Ic... thx davidmak for answering my question.
I found one solution for seperating 3G connection and WIFI for internet browsing. First, go to connection mgr then find internet account. Set ur 3G connection to one group and wifi AP for another group. And in setting, tick the show connection dialog. So whenever, you open the browser, it will prompt you which connection group to use for surfing internet. So it won't mixed up the 3G and WIFI connection. Coz i felt that not enabling 3G is not a good solution. ^^

QUOTE(demio121 @ Jul 12 2008, 09:34 PM) unless you do use 3G, enabling it drain yut batt faster. I am on Digi anyway... 3G not available anyway. Added on July 12, 2008, 9:44 pmyou may wanna turn off yur 3G. My 3G is off (me on Digi). If you look at the G900 spec on SE site, talk time on 3G is 1/3 of GSM time. My first charge last me abt 6 days. I did however do light charging when i connect to my laptop. wah.... i didn't enable my 3G at all. But my battery can't last long. Seriously how to u make it 6 days? You didn't use for calling and sms? or did u turn off ur phone when you sleep? Added on July 13, 2008, 3:01 amGuys, i've used Swiss Manager 1.6 to check my G900 system. And I realized that I have only 45mb ram free and after shutting down all user app and reclaim my memory I've only 57mb free. System said that 5 mb ram will be reserve meaning 123mb - 57mb = 66mb. So G900 system used 66mb to boot up? that's alot.... This post has been edited by Jeffery: Jul 13 2008, 03:01 AM

I need the alarm. So maybe flight mode while I'm sleeping? I'm not sure this phone support auto switch on for alarm but it's kinda risky to do that, who knows it will hang during switch on (although it won't haha).

kinda weird, I'm not a heavy user but my G900 hang-ed (force shutdown) twice in 2 days, during normal usage like listening music + sms. Today's battery life not bad. haha I overcharge it while the phone switched off.

Oh ya, guys, do you feel that the key 4 and 7 is quite hard to press.

After few days of usage. The phone kinda laggy. I really hope SE release the latest firmware for us. Else my fren will laugh and critic my precious G900 to the max of being stupid and slow. (Although I doesn't think so)
Today I went to my coll and tried the WIFI. When I press scan the phone gone blank and auto restart. After restarting it shows a msg saying the phone auto restart to perform better performance. I mean WTH, why I'm in other places WIFI has no such thing but only my coll. And it applied to everytime I scan the AP in my coll. Somemore, I didn't open any application background, RAM and CPU usage shud be in minimum state. Just very weird....
and after that incident. My phone started to behave strangely for SMS. When sms came it didn't alert me. Only applied for SMS but not other function. Luckily after my force shutdown and restart the phone back to normal. Really really hoping SE will fix these problem... or just 208mhz not enuff?

thx for the link.
Anyway, for those who encounter laggy G900 and always hang. Please do master reset. It can speed up ur phone to the extent that you no need to restart ur phone anymore. ^^

QUOTE(EmoPunkz @ Jul 20 2008, 02:35 PM) yea its price keep dropping drastically. must be due to d low demand @@ at 1st sight at the specs, it looked impressing. but seems like many problems only @@ ya at first really got alot of problem. But after master reset and few charges on the battery. My g900 now can open all applications in my phone (27 tasks) including google map + 4 windows in internet browser + playing music background without hang. It turns out pretty fast as a symbian phone and the battery life is quite ok adi. Medium usage can last for 2.5 days.
