can u all comment on the bad things of g900?? cuz my sis was thinking 2 buy dis phone ...

yup drastically drop...u know 4 months ago the price is ar rm1500...but now only rm1005...u see drop rm495 within 4 months

can i use this phone(G900) to view ms office or power point? or is there any software i need 2 install into this phone in order to use those?

has anyone tried to dl msn mobile yet. im thinkin about it. but never tried it yet. any reviews?

yeah.. i agree on sticking to 2GB is the best... for my case.. i almost used up the 2gb and now...and its kind of lag when viewing pictures using media

I'd get the N95 because UIQ has stopped developing.

emm how about  tiang lampu  light up but still can't surf internet n message "can't locate ur remote server " keep coming every time try to surf???? any others solution guyz

Added on November 11, 2008, 4:49 pmanyway... one thing that is bad with the phone is the alarm!! It isn't like others.. it does not ring when it's off... it does not ring + vibrate when it's mute/silent.. hmmm.. do u guys hav any applications to replace the normal alarm??

hahah no it wasnt me. it was the guy right next to me like 2 feet away hahaha. im always unlucky in exam i get so distracted with these people. lucky the examiner didnt stop me. otherwise potong steam hahahah. so many time person next to me. alarm lah. or cheating lah. this or that. yeah australia is very strict. they make you turn off the phone and put it on the floor. same with wallet and everything. if you have pencil case. you cant bring it in. you have to transfer everything inside to a clear plastic bag. haahah like criminals man.

This phone price is at RM950++ now. OMG! Getting so cheap.

Symbian was founded by Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, and maybe others. Now, Symbian is completely owned by Nokia AND is open source (or going to be soon). UIQ and S60 are only user interfaces, so any app written for S60 theoretically can be easily ported for UIQ if the author wishes to. So don't worry, only the UI of the G900 is going to die, not the OS Even so, its not like UIQ is completely useless.

Btw, "G" stands for "Generation Web".

Well, UIQ and S60 are just user interfaces. Under them, its the same operating system (sort of like TouchFlo3D on Windows Mobile). You might have noticed similarities between them, like the folder structures and stuff. If you write a symbian program that doesn't need any user input, it should (theoretically) work on both S60 and UIQ phones.

But since UIQ is largely touch based, SE has modified the OS to suit its needs, and so has Nokia.

Symbian will still live, and will be open source, so I think everyone can freely install it on their phones. Nokia is also adding touch functionality to Symbian, so maybe SE will STILL have Symbian phones, but with S60? Its just speculation, but Symbian isn't dead yet  (still has the largest market share in mobile OSes)
