can update.. there are ways..
put it this way, if u want a new phone, if u already have the money, just get it..

features are not to par as another phone priced the same but i guarantee u that u won't have the same experience as u have with the iphone..

the touch interface is really revolutionary.. no other phone in the market can do what the iphone can..

if u want it, if u can afford it, by all means, get an iphone

wow, that's really a great news. yup, if it really comes here, it is better to get the official ones. It will be easier to deal with warranty and any issues arising from the iPhone usage. It is also a far better way for the not-so-tech-savvy to get an iPhone this way, as they don't have to meddle with unlocking procedures and the hassles encountered while doing restore.

and for the adventurous ones, we still can get this iPhones without being tied to the contract first. Yup, if it is introduced here the same way as the other countries that Apple has brought the iPhone before. but if we are forced to do it (yeah who knows?) we still can do a contract termination. But of course if it is as the same way as the US, the contract termination fee will be superduper crazy.

mmm...i'm just hoping that it comes here without contract. or at least country-locked.

If you don't mind me asking, which machines outlet was this? I can't believe a store manager would say things that are not even confirmed.. You guys better not get your hopes up too high

does iphone comes with international warranty?
coz IF it's reaching here by june, then we can just restore back the phone and take it to apple outlet here for warranty in case anything happen to ur phone.

I don't really think that Apple will offer the iPhone in Malaysia.

As I know currently the discussion between Apple and APAC telco providers are AIS (Thailand i.e. parent company is Singtel), Singtel (Singapore) and Optus (Australia i.e. also owned by Singtel).

could be rumors, could be real, just saying what i heard.

he also mentioned that it wont be locked and it'll be free for all, starting price at RM 2,500

but please don't quote me on this information, as others in this forum might know better;)

That's a total rip off (well as usual, Apple products are expensive everywhere except US), might as well get an AP set lol (read: import from US).

I'm saving up money right now, and preparing to ask my friend (US resident) to buy one at apple store without AT&T contract, and ship it here. Hopefully got friend travel to US and bring back...

it is not really a PDA phone, it is a convergence product. it still can't edit Excel files but all Office stuffs and also PDFs can already being viewed under Mail application as attachments.
or maybe the real applications (Office files editor, etc etc) are still yet to come. maybe u need to wait after the SDK release, maybe then a lot of applications will be written for the iPhone (in the meantime the applications are still unofficial).
