There are a few things you should consider before buying an iPhone now:
1. There is only 1 week's warranty for iPhones purchased in Malaysia.
2. You are being one of the pioneers, thus lacking mature technical support unlike the other conventional PDA phones.
3. There are many limitations in terms of compatibility between iPhone and Windows OS, unless you are using an apple machine.
4. There is a possibility that the 3G version will be announced this year.
5. It's darn expensive. LOL.
Otherwise, iPhone is a great phone to own.
1. Don't really think that we got the warranty. some provide it, some not. It is not a real warranty afterall. Depends on the seller.
2. No need technical support, iPhone is so idiot-proof. Oww...if it's about the restore and unlock, y not opt for ZiPhone, the most idiot-proof way ever.
3. Syncing support of contacts, emails, and calendars with Outlook is there. Your browsing favourites can also being synced with either using Safari for Windows or IE. What's more to ask about Windows compatibility? Oww...btw u can sync media files on iTunes.
4. Maybe yes, maybe not. a higher capacity of iPhone has been announced. so that means it is a very small timeframe then for this iPhone if Apple wanna introduce 3G iPhone this year. But yeah the probability is still there for 3G version this year, as from what is speculated around Asia release.
5. Yeah i agree, totally superduper expensive. But considering u r buying an iPhone at average price of RM2xxx here, it is still whole lot cheaper than some average decent-performance Windows Mobile smartphones in the market. We are not comparing iPhone with Nokia Daun, hell no!
But the reason that maybe we wanna consider is that the readiness of user to this gadget. maybe it sports the iPod player inside it that makes it doesn't look appropriate for serious business use for business minded. also about skepticism on Apple products on which they said that it is not totally compatible with its Windows counterpart. mmm...anyway it's better for the interested to see first on the iPhone and look for what they are looking for, or what they need. that's the only way.
hehehe...btw i'm not an iPhone seller.
