Hi I'm not sure which of these guitars to get, so please help me choose. I'm not sure on either getting Yamaha Pacifica 112J or Standard Squier Tele. The thing is I would like a cheap guitar in which I can "customize", so in a way the cheaper the better. But I also would like it to have a good sound for it's price, since I won't change anything so fast. I was leaning towards the tele since I've always wanted to own one, but still not too sure. Please help me. Thanks!

Why is it a nicer guitar? Just because it's a Les Paul? Does it sound different? Maybe the TS Likes a Strat sound? Different Strokes for different people mate.
And what do you want to "customize"? Pickups? Neck? Tuners? All guitars can customize. Heck, even my USD800 Epi Zakk Wylde LP also I "customized" with EMG-ZW pickups and StrapLoks. But if you mean stripping paint, replacing the neck, scalloping the frets, you'll still want a decent guitar...... Like the saying goes, No matter how much perfume you spray on a piece of dog turd, at the end of the day, it's still a dog turd....

@ your saying. but i have to agree, its better to invest in something at least decent regardless of "customizing" or not. even if you put the most chunted pickups and best tuners and stuff in your squier, your guitar will still be a squier at the end of the day. if you can save up, i'd suggest getting an at least average guitar makes you wanna play more, out of the box at least.

i have a pacifica 112j after barely 2 weeks i had duncan in bridge. after another 2 weeks, i changed the neck from single coil to humbuckers, duncan '59. at the end of the day it's still a pacifica. so yeah, get a decent guitar around rm2k if u dont wana follow my footsteps. Getting Started

|
as above, get a decent guitar to start off with, not a cheapo one. i spent months trying to convince a friend NOT to buy a SX bass, and go for something higher up the food chain, but he still bought it anyway, because "he was gonna modify it"
Now he regrets buying a SX to start modding.

Err...ok I guess I'll save up a bit more money. I'm not really a fan of SX, didn't really have the "feel" to it. Seems like a guitar where they want to make money off of rather than making the best guitar. Oh well I guess I'll wait for a while. Thanks anyway!
