I got 500 over songs in my Ipod, how come i can't see any songs in any folder after attaching the USB cable to my laptop. How do I transfer the songs from my laptop to Ipod then ?

Friend,

First of all, you need to install itunes software to your laptop. Software can be downloaded from Apple website. Software is free.

After install, u can connect ur cable to laptop, and the software will be automatically appear.

to transfer the file to ur ipod, u need to add/open file from the sofware and select song.

After that u drag the song from laptop to ur ipod - all of this, you can do it through the itunes software.

Lol, whether or not it's an original RM120 cable or a clone RM25 ones, it doesn't matter, works the same. Follow the instruction by the guys above and use iTunes to sync all your music in. The iPod doesn't work like any simple flash drive, so don't expect a simple copy n' paste to do the trick.... wink.gif

I read your post again and noticed something? If what you say is correct, and you do have 500 songs in your iPod, how did you manage to get them into the iPod in the first place if not with iTunes? hmm.gif

I presume that he is asking 2 questions:
1. Where the songs synced into iPod are located?
2. How to transfer songs into iPod?

Ok if that's the case :

1. Songs are stored on the iPod under hidden folder "\iPod_Control\Music" and the songs name are randomly generated inside lots of folders. Actually this is to prevent user to access the songs easily and then transfer back into the computer. But then if u really need to recover the songs, just use Winamp. But this is not applicable for newer generation of iPods.

2. Yup, use iTunes to transfer into your iPod

Actually, some people got mindset of having to put songs into a particular folder designated in the portable player. It is true for a lot of mobile phones (most of the case is putting songs into special folder inside memory cards) and some portable players (need to drag and drop files into the special music folder). But for iPod, remember though that it is designed to manage songs via iTunes. But then if u have purchased contents inside the iPod, u can easily transfer to a computer that is authorized with your iTunes account using Transfer Purchases menu.
