Sorry, i am a ipod newbie. After attach the Ipod USB cable to my laptop, I can only see 3 folders, that is "Calendar", "Contacts, "Notes". I got 500 over songs in my Ipod, how come i can't see any songs in any folder after attaching the USB cable to my laptop. How do I transfer the songs from my laptop to Ipod then ?
I presume that he is asking 2 questions:1. Where the songs synced into iPod are located?
2. How to transfer songs into iPod?
Ok if that's the case :
1. Songs are stored on the iPod under hidden folder "\iPod_Control\Music" and the songs name are randomly generated inside lots of folders. Actually this is to prevent user to access the songs easily and then transfer back into the computer. But then if u really need to recover the songs, just use Winamp. But this is not applicable for newer generation of iPods.
2. Yup, use iTunes to transfer into your iPod
Actually, some people got mindset of having to put songs into a particular folder designated in the portable player. It is true for a lot of mobile phones (most of the case is putting songs into special folder inside memory cards) and some portable players (need to drag and drop files into the special music folder). But for iPod, remember though that it is designed to manage songs via iTunes. But then if u have purchased contents inside the iPod, u can easily transfer to a computer that is authorized with your iTunes account using Transfer Purchases menu.
