Is getting 4As in A level enough to enter HKU for dentistry course? I havent applied yet but it seems that they need alot of documents like referee's report (some sort of testimonial from teacher i guess) which unis in other countries do not need. How high is the chance of me getting into HKU? can anybody tell me honestly? and i'm not really good in writing personal statement asking for my career aspirations..may i knw how important is it?...and im not really active in extra corricular activities too...should i still apply for the course?

their intake, if i'm not wrong is only once a year in september (unless you're going there for exchange).

as for the dentistry bit. 4As is really good results academic-wise. as for the other questions about whether you're good enough or your co-curricular etc etc, you won't know unless you try applying. i don't think anybody can give you a direct answer for that. but do note that your personal statement would be something that can help you stand out from the rest of the academically excellent applicants, especially since the intake for dentistry is generally quite small and they tend to have a pool of academically excellent applicants to choose from annually. try to write something honest and personal rather than generic exam-like essays and you should be fine.eg. write about how you love sweets but hate going to the dentist or something. O_o sharing personal stories that the selector can relate to might make your application more memorable than the generic i-hold-1000-posts-in-my-previous-school lists. but that's just my two-cents. it's all up to you. all the best!

Thanks for the advice. I guess i'll have to write something real abt why i decided to study dentistry. and its true i've never been to a dental clinic for dental check up haha tho i'm having a wisdom tooth now. Actually, its the wisdom tooth that made me want to become a dentist. I dint know what is a wisdom tooth till the day i got one. LOL.
