for me, its screen freeze. play like 10 mins, then freeze (with a sound like *tett*). restart, play 10 mins, freeze

i dont think that's a sign of rrod ler... sometimes data in these gadgets load too fast/too slow. if freeze and cannot do anything unless u restart baru kira sign of rrod.

where did u get the long dvd linker dude?
i wanna put my dvd outside the box,but cant find one linker long enough to do so..

ermm..im using the intercooler oso..dont want to mod coz still have warannty..if use laptop cooler ok or not

hurm..the thing is beneath our laptop there are holes for fan and heatsink.but not beneath our x360. dunno how the laptop cooler can cool it.furthermore laptop cooler only use usb as power.i dont think it's enough to cool the xbox without any holes for it to suck or blow air to the xbox..

yup its not enuf laptop cooler does nothing

GOW is too dangerous to play?

I dont know about gow, but i been playing gow so long that it didn't give me 3rod. But devil may cry 4 gave me 3 rod

I play GOW no problem.... But i play AC hang once! Then i restart my console...

Some times playing AC it will have a beep~~ sound for a second.. wat happen ar?

the screen start freeze one or two times with the hang sound...then when your restart the consoles..the green light will not show for about ten seconds and when the light appears then BOOM!! the lights will change to the infamous 3 red light of death....or known as 3ROD..that the epic symptom of M$ defective consoles...

Tht mean beep sound is close to rrod? Terrible .. my falcon beep once .. hahaha..

are you sure you buy a falcon set? how do you recognize it....

Yesterday i play assassin's creed got beep sound once... but the game no hang.. and able to continue play..

Is the game itself problem or my console? I bought at 2nd Feb 08. Any sifu here can advise? Urs falcon will have beep sound while playing any game?

But when i buy tht time .. the guy ask me don take out the hdd from console.. he say warranty will void.

so there is a warranty sticker stick at the gap between my hdd attach to the console. Hope u know wat im talking about .

sumtimes gameplay bcomes laggy..
sumtimes display turns greener..

after few days my fren's xbox got 3rod.. dat happened after he played straight more than half a day..

just 4 the info....you can check what error that your 360 have..by doing this method...

hold the sync button (the little one on the consoles (white colour)) and then press the eject button on your consoles....

when you do this 4 times..you can see the LED will show a series of number of ROD according to your error...

4 lights of ROD blinking = 0
1 lights of ROD blinking = 1
2 lights of ROD blinking = 2
3 lights of ROD blinking = 3

example :

You try the method above 1st time = get 4 lights
You try again 2nd time = get 1 lights
Your try agin 3rd time = get 4 lights
You try last = get 2 lights

*Just try 4 times because after 4 time the LED will change back to 3ROD

The results you get is error code : 0102

Maybe experts or MS know what the problem is...

want to ask, i was playin lost odyssey while on loading screen, it just froze. then i had to restart the machine again. year manufacture is 2008 wif hdmi and 175w power brick. is this a sign of 3rod on my machine?

try to clear ur hdd cache and play again..

I got my box rrod b4 and send to MS to claim.. and sometimes the 360 will hang.. but once i clear out the cache it's ok liow

the common sign of 3 rod is the fizzling images. (like a lot of tiny dot on your screen or more to like dead pixel but bigger! )

but crashes on xbox 360 has become so common.

even my crashes a few time. (thanks to our broadband)

yea that happen to me before the 3rod hit my consoles....if anybody of you guys exp the same symtom..please send it to the retailers if you still have the warranty..if not....just send it to repair....

guys, i'm getting a RROD for the 2nd blardy time!!! sent it for fixing a month ago when it first appeared and that costed me rm150.

i'm not gonna waste anymore cash fixing something which is broken in the first place... can anyone offers any advice/guide on openning the box up and fixing it?

i'm thinking of getting the so-said falcon version, but it's also being rumoured the coming of Casper and xbox with blue-ray, that and the fact that it's not my liking to turn my existing one to a door stopper.

if do water cooling will it prevent 3rod?

may be...it may help to prevent 3rod...

as i read in the net that many people has come up with ways 2 prevent 3rod but they say that certain stuff u do 2 prevent 3rod will actually speed up the process of 3rod or even more damage.

Check out our current PC mobo there is a metal piece behind the mobo where the cpu fan clamps on the holder on the mobo,that metal piece prevents the mobo to flex when the fan is clamped onto the fan holder i have seen a 360 mobo and i could be wrong that particular metal piece is nt there and the mobo of a 360 is so flimsy where it can bend very easily so with high temperature the mobo will bcome even more flimsy and causes the tracks on the pcb board to break and loose connection i guess that even with special cooling the mobo will still heat up and will flex.

well dont do anything to ur console liew..water cooling or so what ever,trust me it wont help..

so xbox is bound to have lotsa problem from the DVD drive to the mobo itself its the shortest lasting console in the market,hahahaha 3rod will hit no matter what microsoft does.Unless they change the mobo design and the GPU/CPU chip to produce less heat and less power.

Falcon is already 65nm CPU and had the mobo/heatsink re-design , now only waiting for smaller die size or new design of the GPU .

microsoft needs 2 improve the cooling system also

Sometimes the freezing screen and unusual conditions while playing games caused by games itself. If you try others game it will be alright!

err.. i will be a newbies in xbox 360 user.. as what i read here.. quite scare lor.. but who care.. if want to play.. just play.. if hit's by 3rod.. just repair.. if cant repair.. campak tong sampah la kan? huhuhu.. xbox or ps3? which should be a long term investment that is good?

mine 360 also freeze about 1-2 min

but i don't think its a 3rod because

its only freeze when about to start playing assasin creed game. other game ok..the screen was black..i press everything,but nothin came out..after a few min..its ok..

my friends 360 also like this..maybe not 3rod

I think never touch the heatsink of the cpu, my cpu is hotter than my gpu.

your xbox 360 cpu is hotter then the GPU ? thats very odd... "interesting"

Yup, logically cpu will hotter than gpu, last time my xbox360 hit by rrod, my cpu is damn hot, just like it waiting to fry egg.

make me wander why your CPU is hotter then GPU,

mostly all the xbox 360 are the other way around

unless, you didn't put any thermal compound on the CPU die.

if CPU hotter than GPU thats mean 3rod will come in short time or maybe is sign of 0110.

Hmmm.... i m not sure it will come or not, bcoz after i replace the new thermal paste, i boot it for first it still hit by 2rod, but i left the 2rod runnning about 10 minute, then next time i reboot the machine, thats no more rrod anymore.
