Budget: rm 2-2.5k
CPU: AMD no intel please..
Graphic: ATI or Nvidia, no intel integrated graphic.
Purpose : for play games.....

Reason: coz my sis just brought 1 lappy at rm 1.6k

they say acer 2920 is quite okay. where can i buy at RM 2499. I saw one online. but it's in sabah and sarawak. no store here in KL

i thought ATI one all integrated 

what is amd? some ppl say amd puma?? is it a new procerror that better than core 2 duo?

Bmd... my budget can up tp around 3.5k if the laptop is worth it can go up a lil bit.
my fren's dad got 1 acer which is quite good spec i think. then i just spoiled within 1 year. it might be 1 in a million( not really.. hehe).

bmd.. my choice might be dell studio, as your recomandation, and dell inspiron, and acer( scare scare...), might be acer 4920G... just waiting for suggestion

I'm thinking of getting a laptop, but I can't make up my mind or cannot find a suitable one that fits the information specified below, so I'd appreciate any help I could get. So far, the one that's caught my eye the most is the Dell Inspiron 1420, but it has a Broadcom wireless card in it, which I'd rather avoid.

Brand: Anything but Acer.
Budget: below RM3000, cheaper better.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Centrino Duo 2.0 GHz or higher, or AMD of similar spec (preferably Intel)
RAM: 2GB DDR2 or higher
HDD: 160GB or higher
GPU: Anything Intel.
Wireless: 802.11b/g, preferably Intel
Optical drive: Something with DVD and CD burning capabilities
OS: None, FreeDOS, some Linux distro, or if cannot, Windows will be fine (The cheaper the better, I intend to wipe it out and replace with Ubuntu)
Webcam: present
Screen Res: The higher the better
Size: 14.1" or 15.4" or anything in between

I'm currently a student at uni so I'll mostly be using this laptop do to my assignments and all the basic stuff like online chatting, streaming etc. Need a lighter laptop because I would be taking public transportation and walking up to uni everyweek. Wouldn't want to break my shoulders carrying the baby:)

At the same time, I play World of Warcraft fairly often, so I hope that the laptop could run the program smoothly >.<

I've screened through Dell XPS 1330, but I'm a bit skeptical about it as there are many complaints about it being faulty and stuff within the first few weeks if not a year after use. Hopefully you guys could give me some pointers about what I should get. Hopefully the pros and cons too, cause I know not all laptops are thaaaaaaaaat awesome, hehe.
