Hi guys, I'd like to share my OC stats and I'd like some advice.

My rig is in my siggy so as my RAM OC.
Vdimm is 2.1V.

I'd like to get up till 1066MHz, but
1) i'm not certain which timing should i heighten OR should I increase the Vdimm?
2) Did anyone tried this on an E8400 at 3.6GHz? How's the FSB:DRAM ratio?

Or is the above impossible and I risk spoiling smtg? sweat.gif

Here's a caption of my current OC

sweat.gif I don't know why my ram is written as DDR3 in CPUZ.

Added on November 2, 2008, 3:01 pmBTW i notice with the current settings of 4:5 at 1000MHz, I notice FIFA08 runs faster than my previous settings of 1:1 at 800MHz. Can anyone explain why?

Try Everest bandwidth benchmark to see the difference between both setup.
however, pushing the ram alone itself, won't yield much increase in performance.
if temp./ocability allows, try 8x500 1:1 should be a sweet spot.

& i'm curious wondering how u got ur 3gb ram runs at dual channel symmetric mode?

I'm still new to OC-ing btw. Based on a review, my mobo can only OC its FSB up to 420MHz which I've no idea what to put for my proc voltage. I'm limited by my mobo which is too bad.

Could you explain to me why my current ratio of 4:5 feels faster than my 1:1 setup? Any valid reason?

About my rams.. I don't quite understand your curiousity. sweat.gif

The possibility is that the bandwidth of 1000mhz C5 (4:5) is higher than 800mhz C4 (1:1)
that's why will be good if test it with everest bandwidth benchmark to confirm it.
@ the very same fsb for both setup, it's either the extra mhz made the difference or performance level (trd) does it.
i'd say if it's the mhz itself, then the difference is minimal due to looser timing as well.

as for my curiosity, nvm bout it tongue.gif
it might be cpu-z don't know display async. mode. biggrin.gif

I've reverted back to 800MHz with 4-4-4-12 latency.. Suddenly I feel everything is ok.

BTW, when I ran IBT, i got failed results. Any particular reason why i got that?

u mean ur 800-c4 passed ibt but not the 1000-c5?

might be not enough vdimm for that,
or, try 5-5-5-15

Umm even at 800-c4 it failed. My vdimm is 2.1V which is what recommended by corsair (on the packing of the RAMs that is).

You can try to input 2.1V for Vdimm, 1000MHz, and 5-5-5-12 timing. Worked for mine biggrin.gif

ok here i just wanna to ask you something about loosing the ram timing..erm i got a bit limitation during my ocing project which is my VDIMM voltage. The highest i can set is 1.95V cry.gif . in amd system, by lowering the multiplier it will automatically oced your ram..now i am using the multiplier 12.5x141=3.012GHz at 860MHz.planning to reduce the multiplier to 12x 151=3.012GHz @1000MHz drool.gif ..but after i set it into 12x 151=3.012GHz, my system won't boot.. cry.gif due to the limitation by the ram.when i refer to this thread.suppose the corsair DHX C5 have capability to achieve >1000MHz easily with 2.1volt VDimm..Since i cant increase my vdim, the only option i prefer rite now is loosing my timing.Hope sifu or gurus out there can tech me the correct way to lost my timing by using memset..here my rig details

AMD 5000X2+G2 @ 3.012GHz
Asus M2N-E(limittation in Vdim cry.gif )
Corsair DHX C5 6400@ 860MHz @1.95V|
5-5-5-15-23-2T(my question how to loose this ram timing ???..can give me example on loosing the timing)

here also i attached my ocing details:

Hey, is it true when using 8g of ram for our pc doesnt give any extra performance or indirectly is a waste.
