I am back from crazy shopping ...

Let me get started the review ... I know you can't wait any longer

1. I used Logitech Classic Keyboard Plus (PS/2 version) and A4 Tech Mouse (PS/2 version) connected to the device ... plug and play ... but the Keyboard could not working properly (signal unstable) and the Mouse totally useless

so my answer is don't use PS/2 version ... throw my Keyboard and Mouse to rubbish bin mad.gif

2. I used Logitech NewTouch Keyboard 200 (USB version) and Logitech Optical Mouse (USB version) connected to the device ... plug and play ... the Keyboard 100% working and the Mouse 100% working

[attachmentid=391763] [attachmentid=391764]

so my answer is use USB version

tomorrow I am going to buy Laser Mouse to try it out tongue.gif

Now I need to figure out how to re-map PS3 controller buttons to Keyboard and Mouse ... because default configuration not all the buttons assigned and suitable for every gamer ...

how good is the sensitivity and response? I heard that it isnt so good.
*
1. I tried it with default settings (Level 1 of X and Y sensitivity) ... mouse movement is slow ... when increase to Level 16 ... mouse movement is fast ... so you can adjust it to your comfort level

2. You need to adjust game sensitivity (low, medium, high, custom) as well to get best result

3. Response from Keyboard is fast when you press the key

4. Response from Mouse is fast when you click the button

you can set Turbo mode for all 8 controller buttons ... yet to test out

I am not a pro gamer, so my review might not be 100% correct ...

overall I would say this product is definitely good for gamers who get used to Keyboard and Mouse

myself I still think Sixaxis controller easy to use

LoL, thanks for the review bro. Firgured how to map the keys yet? Looks abit confusing to me... How do you map or reset the custom mapped keys?
*
Reset is simple ... press "P" button for 5 seconds ... all 4 indicators flashing ... done

Map keys ... you can refer to their website ... they have 2 videos ... one is to teach you how to connect Keyboard and Mouse to the device ... the other one is to teach you how to map controller buttons to Keyboard and Mouse ... damn simple

The device tested on Resistance: Fall of Man and Call of Duty 4 ... plug and play

Lol oops might not be the PS2. Could have been the XBOX. smile.gif But I certainly bought some keyboard/mouse converter thingy from Lik-Sang before they went down.

I think I am used to the controller now that using mouse will feel awkward instead tongue.gif

There was a third party FPS for PS2 years ago and it called SmartJoy Frag PS2. It only support PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse. When PS3 Resistant: Fall of Man came out, a third party converter called Logic3 PS2 to PS3 controller converter launched in the market.

You can use PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse to play PS3 FPS games ie. Resistant: Fall of Man and The Darkness.

However PS/2 has limitations, so a third party has created USB version called XFPS. They first developed on Xbox 360 FPS game ie. Halo 3, and successful. After received many feedbacks from Xbox gamers, they enhanced it to 3rd generation.

Now they came out XFPS for PS3 using 3rd generation features from Xbox 360.

How to connect to keyboard and Mouse (PS3 Resistance: Fall of Man game)

How to map the key to keyboard (PS3 Call of Duty 4 game)

IMO, this device has no lag ... instant response ... with Turbo Mode ON ... superb

clngu, thanks for the time to explain and also thanks for posting up the video.  notworthy.gif

Btw, I notice my mouse felt abit jerky when I turn. The jerk is obvious when I slowly aim or slowly move the mouse. Do you get that effect? I using some cap ayam optical mouse with 1000 dpi.

Took me ages to adjust but just can't seem to get it right. maybe its the mouse. Probably I will try some other mouse and see.
*
when I tested using PS/2 wheel mouse on mouse pad ... the jerk is bad

when I tested using USB optical mouse on mouse pad ... the jerk is little

when I tested using USB laser mouse on mouse pad ... the jerk barely notice

IMO, mouse type and mouse pad is a factor

LoL, laser mouse. Maybe I need to check and see. If the jerk is bad I guess its back to DS3 then.  tongue.gif

The jerk only appears when you slowly move the mouse. If move fast still ok. But when aiming sure move slowly, that's when the problem appears. LoL  laugh.gif
*
I tested on Logitech brand ... quite smooth when aiming slowly ... dunno about other brands ... may be can check with XCM for advise

I will send an email to them tonight about the matters

I just tested a mouse with 1600dpi. Ok and smooth but can't get use to it yet. Something seems weird when I use mouse. Will try to play around with the settings again.  tongue.gif I feel I pwnz more using DS3, than using the KB/Mouse. LOL

Thanks for sending the email. Maybe they can provide a few list of mouse that is compatible.

Actually I wanted to try Razer Lachesis - a true 4000dpi 3G Laser(tm) sensor, which enables movement speeds of 5 times that of a standard 800dpi optical sensor. And a response time of 1ms, as compared to that of 8ms found in conventional gaming mice.

user posted image
Use it on Razer eXactMat(tm) Precision Mouse Mat - provides two distinct performance surfaces - SPEED for action/adventure and FPS games and high-sensitivity gamers; and CONTROL for RPG and RTS games and low-sensitivity gamers - on a non-slip, anti-reflective and abrasion-resistant anodized aluminum hard coat.

The result should be maddness drool.gif

You used DS3 for so long ... already used to it ... suddenly change to Keyboard and Mouse ... sure uncomfortable smile.gif
