QUOTE(rx330 @ Feb 23 2008, 10:11 AM) u cant really say old model , its the current model in msia, as the replacement aint here yet My main use for it will be for PS3 games and only sometimes (i mean really sometimes) for blu-ray movie...most of the time only anime watching via DLNA from PC.yes, it has 1024 X 768 only, same as pioneer 42 inches plasma, but its HD alrite, eve though the maths doesnt add up how does it fare? hmmm, for tat price, i must say its good but..... since u are willing to fork out abt rm 5k for a 42 incher.. whynot got projector? for 5 k u shud be able to have the projector and screen and has sizes up to 100" anytime So getting a Projector is a bit inappropriate...coz I think a projector won't be able to 'tahan' my gaming session that sometimes can stretch up to 8 hours in one sitting..although it may be once a week. Furthermore my 2nd floor common room isn't that big for a projector anyway.....and I think the price for PV70 the last time I saw at Jusco was only aabout 4599 I think..and that's before any discount...and my current target is the 32D300a...which is priced at around 3800...top up only about 800 can get a 42 incher plasma already... but I'm worried bout the contrast and resolution...as I remember for plasma...we really need to control the amount of light in the room...the darker the better they say... |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Mar 19 2008, 05:37 PM) hehehhe..I'm afraid that 32" will be too small if I put it at my living hall so that's why I have to get a 40" as the D series doesn't have 37" (only S series has that size). Is it really safe to purchase the TV via Amazon? what if we get the 40D3000 from there? cheaper? Tax wise...okeh or not?@lapaq, just go ahead...I'm also actually can't tahan but must be strong....amazon.com is selling KDL-40XBR4 (same model for KLV-40X300A here) for USD2000 and the shipping cost from US to Malaysia is around USD666 so the total price after conversion roughly is about RM8,531. Sony is selling it at RM15k.....that's about RM6,468 difference....the tv is multi voltage, i.e 110V-240V so don't need any stepdown voltage converter....very tempting... QUOTE(earthdome @ Mar 20 2008, 01:32 AM) Pana TH37PX80, I can't find any review laa...how does it stack to other brands and what's the price? |

QUOTE(daTUK_SErI @ Mar 24 2008, 11:26 PM) Well, try to call other best denki stores..they are in the process of getting rid of the model as a new model is coming mid or end april....and new model price you all know the price laaa kan....They said the new model features wise is not that diff...only asthetic...but you never know....maybe they just said that to 'trick' me into buying their last unit.... Better get a D series....V series tak best laaa....beza pun 3-4 ratus jaaa....a few phone calls and a few visit to shops will is at least worth that much. p/s: I tried to ask for a free HDMI too at when I bought my tv...but it seems either they duwan to give me any since I've got a good deal already or they are really out of stock... p/p/s: Yup...my ASTRO will only be hooked to my WEGA 29"...which is for my wife use...me...only hooked to the PS3 and PC...hehehe...can now become the king of my tv...if not I'm the queen and my wife is the king.... |

By then, a new W series will have come out already and being new...the price also new...hehehe I've practically given up the prospect of getting the Panasonic PV80. I'm thinking of getting a 1080p display and doubling it as my PC screen (I only do occasional surfing..most of the time turning it on to BT only). I can't seem to find any reviews on it. Will be getting it most likely in June/July. Hopefully the price would have fallen more by then. This post has been edited by lapaq: Mar 25 2008, 01:00 PM |

How long can a projector 'project' video in a stretch?
and how long will the 'bulb' last on average? Is it really viable for hard core game playing? |

I really am 'pelik' with what sony have done....they name the feature as Motion Flow plus but in the settings, the option is label as motion enhancer..and nowhere in the manual it stated that motion enhancer is motion flow....
It only state that motion enhancer will provide a amoother pic movement...it took me a while to find that out. Oh and I haven't connect it with my PC yet as I've yet got a long enough VGA cable...I just need a 2-3 meters cable... btw, what's a d-sub port used by the D300a? is it dvi input or the normal vga port? I'm actually thingink to upgradeto a HDMI compliant card..maybe the 9600 GT...but have to check my bank account first laa... I really think the 3199 is money well spent....Muahahahha |

QUOTE(ron4 @ Mar 30 2008, 09:33 PM) Wah rugi lah, i bought V Series for RM3499, expensive than D Series, suppose D series is expensive than V right? Yeah D original price when it first came out was 4499...then went down to 3999....I'm pretty lucky as I got it when they are selling it to clear their stock...They say sony is not selling the D series because it's too good for it's price... |

For me I'm not that far from the screen...only have a small table (to put my pop corn and my controller and my feet between the TV any our sofa...so 32 is enough for me...Not sure about my room size tho...but it's about 8x10 maybe...tho I'm only using like 2/3 of the room with my setup.... |
