question here to ask azarimy,
how hard is the chance to get into the "well known" university in UK?(since my family will only allow me to go if I can enter those =.=) however,I would like to know which Uni is now good for architecture beside wad i heard Bartlett and AA.
well, another question here. im currently studying diploma in architectural tech in taylors college...is it possible for me to enter the 1st year of degree without finishing the diploma(maybe finish 2nd year, as example)?

thanks in advance biggrin.gif

QUOTE(azarimy @ Jun 24 2008, 08:46 PM)
ur diploma qualification should be enough for u to enter these universities, but they're also looking for design flare in ur design. if u're a play-safe designer with an 3.70cgpa, they might not consider u at all. sheffield might, but probably not bartlett.
*
i dun understand wad u mean by "play-safe designer".they might not consider u at all mean that all ur design work is boring or?

recently i read some universities requirement for architecture course (quite free recently) and found out that almost every uni prefer the student to hand up a portfolio. Im quite interested and want to know what should the student do in portfolio. what kind of work will impress the most and how many should have done.

I need help here!!! I've just got one of my assignments from the subject building construction. It required us to do a model of a building using the 20 x 10 x 9mm MDF blocks. Does anyone here know where to get it around KL and PJ area? How much it cost ? According to the lecturer, we will need around 3000 to 5000 pieces of blocks to complete one model. Where can find the best deal?

thanks in advance biggrin.gif

im in taylors 3rd sem now but im a chinese ed.however i have no problem speaking in english just when i m speaking with a fren who could have speak in chinese then for sure i would cause it is kinda weird when 2 ppl who knows chinese chat in english....
i admit some of the "mandarin group" are not really good with their english, but not their concept or even skill in producing good work. instead of judge this matter from your point of view, why don't you view it another angle? they cant speak proper english and they feels so embarass when talking to such ppl like u who can speak well? Try to show ur interest of making friend with them with speaking some chinese or cantonese even though ur not really good, coz this is same to them. I have some of the chinese speaking group has really good concept n idea but always sucks big time in presentation and some english speaking fren whose idea is "so so" but they can do well in presentation. I dare to say that in architecture this course concept and presentation is equally important,so y don't u ppl group up and exchange idea n skill?

However,i can tell you that "us" as a chinese speaking group is kinda "anti" those banana tongue.gif(hope u dun mind),try to learn some chinese even it is basic. Don't limit yourself but try to accept others' culture, language or wadever,it brings no harm to u! To become a good designer has an open mind.

P.s - do u know amanda? the girl with a pierce below her lips... tongue.gif

to xtracooljuzstin,
erm,no offence but juz now my reply was to tell those who are not willing to solve their problem ahead instead trying to get rid of it. I know u don't get to choose your own path since you were young.Maybe that is you but everyone is different.im writing here of what i see. A sorry for that. I never said i do not accept eng-ed friends,in fact i got alot. However there is still "some" out there refuse to...
I don't understand why there is a neccesary of doing those stuff to get rid of chinese-ed student? stopping a semester? My reply was to mrg18. I m in sem3 now n i have the experience of being "distanced" by those eng-ed students because my english was poor. I duno ur situation, xtracool but in Taylors,as im a student here, chinese-speaking does not get their respect here. I even questioned by a lecturer because of speaking chinese...I can say those who speak chinese here always being distanced( at least in my sem) because they r not doing well in presentation, they are weak in essay, they may have plenty of ideas but they couldn't tell the lecturer.
I dont know what is so ashame of being a chinese or live "like a chinese". at least now at our age we can do our own thing then learn some chinese has no harm...I learned english so hard too after i know i was poor in it.so what's wrong u learn chinese now?
"banana" may be stereotyping n im sorry about it. It is common to explain something with another object for my language, Maybe this is too harsh for u,a malaysia eng-ed...

I import my wall from autocad drawing, i leave blank for windows and doors.
den i insert windows and doors .then use editable mesh to attach the left over top part of the door or window wif another box.
then when i apply material, the wall that attached somehow seems like different scale and so it doesnt look nice...
is this anything to deal with scale or wadever can save this. or we must use boolean to cut the hole n fit in the door?

im in the studio now doing this. Hope see the reply and solution soon..

thanks in advance =D

a few questions here :

1. Is it possible to get the part 2 without actually getting any part 2 degree/master just by sitting the part 2 exam alone? as if already got the part 1 and with certain level of knowledge and experience in this field

2. Is it easy to find a job at aus for now as a part 1 graduate. As im only going to study for my final year at there do i get a "free 1 year student working visa sort of thing" at aussie?

3. If I found a job in aus will I able to continue parttime study of part 2 there? which uni offer part time in aussie? do they accept?

thanks in advance.
