They start flying to Melbourne 10 days after they start the KL-Perth route. Maybe time to build that rail link from the airport to the city?

And yes, I am aware that KVReninem posted up there. biggrin.gif

So programming eh?

3)Define "good".
4)What qualifications do you currently have?
With a statement like that, think again: do you think you are suited to university life in the first place?

Honestly, a list of all Australian uni's can be found on Wikipedia. And a sub-list of Go8 and ATN universities also. How about doing more research, find out which uni offers what, do your homework, then ask us.

Endnote: I am not being critical. I'm just amazed that people put their decision on where to go on complete strangers on the internet that may or may not exist. As I said from the start (literary. Look at page 2), I am happy to help people who come in and ask specific questions. But people who come in and ask "what uni got IT in Australia" just show their incompetency, and let's be honest, if you can't even do research on the NAMES of universities in Australia offering a particular course, what makes you think you can do academic research?
*
totally agree & good point. Your future is your own decision; not us.

ermm..my friends got ask me to open an acc in maybank so that my parents can transfer $$ for me without using TT..what is your opinion?
*
i never heard such method of using maybank; pls provide a much supportive statement about using maybank as transaction account to Australia without going thru TT.

QUOTE(limeuu @ Aug 26 2008, 09:06 PM)
i think maybank has a branch in sydney......but i don't think they do retail banking........

if you want to do intra bank transfer, try hsbc.......

otherwise, the cheapest way to transfer money is by bank draft.....
*
Yes; HSBC or CitiBank; most use Hsbc TT.

QUOTE(kayexh @ Aug 26 2008, 10:36 PM)
i'm nt sure though.. if use bandraft it takes time to reach my hand ,right?
what if i need to use $$$ for emergency ?is there others altenative that i can go ??
*
if you are using bankdraft; the money travel with you in hand; n it cost about RM7 if i`m not mistaken; depends on the bank`s connection with overseas & charges.
When do you need money for emergency? Eg pls;
Upon arrival; it is advise to have some amount in hand; as in less than about A1000.
as far i know: the alternative for you currently without knowing the emergency case is credit card bcos it can cover you up awhile.
it takes about 3 days or more to clear the bankdraft. smile.gif

hope this helps.

Question here..
Which bank did you guys choose to open bank account?
*
which state are you going?
the east n west of australia have different domination; but basically most of us here choose CBA(commonwealth bank); you can go with ANZ, NAB or WESTPAC(st George); individual preferences.
Please refer first page.

Hi all..nvr step into this thread b4 tongue.gif
i got a question wanna ask here...sorry if it's being asked b4. How long do i need to stay in aus if i wish to apply PR in aus?
thx!:)
*
It depends on which visa you apply; for those studied in australia; they need to apply for TR before they can be granted full PR which will take sometime.
some; they will go through employer or company skills migration scheme n to get also I heard they need about 2 years to be in Australia.

You can lodge enquire thru the website given. smile.gif in earlier reply.

in emergency, use tt, but be prepared to pay, at both ends......

bank draft will take 1 week to reach by registered post, and then 3 working days to clear......

but really, you should manage your finances such that 'emergencies' do not happen.......if you wait till your last dollar before asking your parent for money, that is bad management.......

i just check with bank customer support.

if a bank atm card with PLUS or cirrus sign/logo behind it , it is eligble to withdraw money from oversea atm, which also have the PLUS/Cirrus logo.

PLUS / Cirrus = Visa / Master, if we can withdrwa money with credit card in oversea atm, so do the bank atm card.

FYI, malaysian local bank like public, cimb ,alliance, doesn't support this kind of service except maybank. Alternatively, try UOB, HSCB/ Citibank , foreign bank had more branches overseas

Added on August 26, 2008, 11:17 pmso my earlier question is answered, i can use maybank atm card to receive money from my parents.  anyway thank you for all the suggestion

well; beware of the charges.this days bank aint that nice anymore. smile.gif

by doing diploma in AU what advantages can i get if i choose i will not do Bachelors degree? can i get the same job after completing diploma  that a graduate will get from bachelors degree in AU or NZ or Canada? if not whAats the difference?
*
most diplomas take you 2 years to complete.
when you are free after school time n trying to find extra job you can get one. as long it benefits you and related to your studies. The job depends on your skills when you are in job finding after graduate.
in australia; its about experience & good better grades n how you bring yourself up.Its not just grades or CGPA like what you get in Msia
Im here to reply about in Australia; others; ask the other thread.

costs of food, entertainment, clothes, and even books can be controlled, but what i found the most difficult cost to get rid of is accommodation, especially if you are studying in melbourne or sydney. For me, $95 per week for rental always exceed all other costs and it's like a solid rock that can't be broken.
*
95 a week can last me well.

QUOTE(haya @ Aug 29 2008, 03:50 PM)
$95/week rental? caspersky, how far away are you living from the city/university?

Okay, I suppose once you include cost of living, flying back etc, yes, we are looking at 500K.

And to lawl, not any more than Sydney or Melbourne. Or even Perth these days.
*
mean your rent is up up? it depends; I find that even Melb is pricey; you still have options.

But as I know if you don't take pre-uni in Malaysia then you have to take up Year 12 there?
*
yes; the option is just back like in Msia; foundation or diploma or Y12. I choose to take diploma bcos my field is long time study; never end. wink.gif
it depends on individual.

QUOTE(onelove89 @ Aug 30 2008, 01:56 PM)
they recognise STPM Alvl and SAM. Which type of Pre-U are you referring to? You'll have to check with them if you're taking pre-u in msia as they might not recognise it. Year 12, foundation and dipl will be the pathways to uni if you want to come after SPM.
