hi everyone im new in this thread. I've study in Melbourne 3 month ago in Hawthorn language uni. Does any LYN gathering in melb?

Well I suppose 3 months isn't much time, but for someone in language school, methinks you need some improvement.

And before anyone starts accusing me, I would like to see anyone dispute that statement.

I have a lot to say about language schools in Australia, but I'll let it pass this time.

sorry about my poor English hope all of you understand. My course is taking 20 weeks, currently is the 7 weeks. so I've 14 weeks to study in language school.

yes, ALL students get to have free bank accounts for most banks, at least both commonwealth and ANZ for sure... and for HSBC, anyone can get FREE accounts...

I found the traveling one but I read that the traveling one is not supposed to be used permanently as it might caught fire.

So where do I get the adapter which has a permanent pin that fits into the socket shown in page 1 ?

Life for professional degree courses like Architecture,Engineering, Medical in Australia is tough!
Unless your parents are millionaires funding your 3-4 years is near impossible.

This is not forgetting their super tough examinations and course works.

i am not gonna comment on tuition fees, as it varies depending on unis and also courses and also they are fixed, so you cant really adjust them... so let's talk about the living costs...

i guess not everyone is so particular on 3 meals a day, and also 3 meals eating out? i think most of the people or at least most of the people that i know, only having 2 meals a day... and i dont think everyone eats out every meal though... and then rental, i still know people who live far from the city and paying only 300bucks per month per room... as well as i know people who never go back to malaysia for once during their 3 years stay...

it really comes down to how you wanna live... obviously knowing your own financial ability, and be rational about your spending... dont overly luxurize yourself...

Still, if you're already here and the cost of living is a big burden... try to save as much as you can I guess... entertainment costs are the easiest to cut down. Screw cinemas... why bother paying 13-16 bucks when renting a DVD is available for 1 buck? Or just use BT Pubs... nah... why burn money there? Entrance fee is already a killer (unless you're a lass going during ladies' night)... don't drink so much loh... alcohol is bad for the liver.

The dire state of students cramping like sardines are not commonly seen I guess. Internationals students esp Malaysians are still pretty ok over here, but of course don't compare to wealthy Indonesian Chinese

only recently... its UniLodge D1... studio apartment also... i think its on hold first... coz my brother did everything (as he is over there) and he said to come see the place first...

For your information, there are only 4 university offering actuarial studies courses. They are Macquarie University(Sydney), ANU(Canberra), UNSW(Sydney), and Melbourne U. The best is Macquarie U, no doubt. If you are interested, then only I explain to you why it is.

Apply for PR? You can calculate if you gain enough points. Normally, people who have just graduated from Australian U will have just enough points to apply PR. If you want to work part time, you have to apply a tax file number and a working visa first. It costs you AUD60. You can work 20 hours per week at most.

they don't even need to have 'open day' for undergraduate medicine......there are many more times eligible applicants than places.....

we will see how the graduate entry application numbers are like in 2011.........many graduate programmes find that they are NOT attracting the best students......
