i think the knocking wall and extension will be the one eating up a lot of cost...

replacing the floor tiles as well as painting the house will not cost much... definitely below RM20k...

also, the plaster ceiling for living room...cost about RM2k average? i remember it's not that expensive as well...

the one eating up the cost will be the extension at the back...

me also now have to start calculating cost for reno.... good thread...do share if you have any more updates on the current cost estimation

i was told that for tiles, have to be careful... the price quoted maybe only for tiles...but labour charge will cost you about 50% more as well...

got a question here as well... for lighting point... my contractor charging me RM48/lighting point...

but i notice that for downlight at my living hall for example, the connection is just looping point to poing connection... but they still gonna charge us RM48/lighting point?

i feel like a bit cheated leh..cause they are not creating a brand new lighting point for you..but rather only connect from the nearest electrical point for the downlight...

pls take note if you refer to old post....maybe already 3-4 years old...probably the labour charge might increase... inflation...hehe..

but then RM20+ psf sounds quite expensive and really inflated la...

Tiling of wall inclusive of hacking comes to RM20+ psf and for floor RM30+.  From what I browse thru this link it is reported to be around RM6.50-7.50 psf for floor tiling and RM4.50 to 5.50 for wall tiling.  Hence I am at a loss as to such a substantial difference.

Do you have a comment on the piping charges as well as the charges for bathtup removal and removal/installation of WC?

Thanks for your help.

Hi all,

If anyone here is from penang and looking for contractor/grill/awning contacts, let me know. I have save the numbers of the good ones and still in contact with them for about 8 years now. the fact that they are still doing the same business after 8 years can be use as proof that their price is reasonable or their quality/workmanship is good and reliable...

I am not going to earn anything but feel good to share good and reliable contacts... win win situation for both user and supplier... smile.gif
