I have a question.

My room wall is starting to crack and there's debris dropping from the crack. If I want to fix the crack, how much does it cost in total?
*
Actually depent on how much area you need to repair, but from my experiance, i don think is cost too much, because what you need to do is, do a litter bit hacking on the crack area, let that area have enough space to put plaster in evenly, then just paint it back will do. But will the problem come back again? Then is depent what cause the problem, is that your stuckture is moving? or just a normal cracking.

I guess you should ready at lease 20k for that.

tq for your comment. i got a quote for tiling works around porch area (excluding hacking current tiles and put concrete). RM11.5 k for 35 X 35 area (labour + 1 X 2 tiles). is this reasonable?

i made simple calculation:

labour: RM 3.50 (I assume as contactor give lump sum cost) x 1225= 4288
tiles: RM7.50 (per tiles) divide by 2 X 1225= RM 4600
total: RM 8888

any other cost to consider?
*
Base on your simple calculation, Tile cost RM7.5/pcs, actually normally we will count abut wastage too, so have to add in about 5% ~ 10% of tile wastage, so make it round to RM5000, and the rest of the price will be a labour of worker, cement, sand and other material, actually is a bit high, you can ask for a discount from the price.

hi...anyone know the cost per square ft for hack off 2 bathroom tile & re-tile the bath room? my condo at puchong. tile supply by me.
*
Doing renovation on bathroom specially condo, is a very costly job, which not only related to how much u hack and how much u lay. Is also u have to remove all the bathroom accessories & fitting, and re-install, water proofing for bathroom (which have to be done), and most of the time removing tile will effected water piping, so have to re-touch up on piping. so, there is a lot of cost to include. so, that depent on site but cant counting by sf.

not included tiles.
is that consider cheap?
3yrs ago la...i heard there's rm3 for lay tiles workmanship, rm2.50 for hacking work.

curious to ask wat is the average market workmanship charge now?
thx.
*
Ya, is almost about the same price, is just normally hacking marble usually will be a bit more expensive. and the price usually included cement and sand as well, so if you say RM8.5 not include tiles, is about that already i think.

that depends on what size of tiles is your quotation referring to.  Generally labour for laying 2x2 will be more expensive than 1x2 or 1x1 ..
assuming a 1x2 homo tiles a piece that i purchased is RM8.00.  Area of 35x38=1330sf.  1330 sf / 2' = 665 so u need 665pc x RM8 = RM5320.

RM11500 - RM5320 = Balance of RM6180.  Divide this by 1330sf =RM4.6 labour for laying 1x2 tiles.    SO, is this reasonable?

and dont forget your calculation is base on 0% wastage. and that i think never happen b4, so you need to at leave add in 5% for small tile and 10% for bigger tile like 1' x 2' or 2' x 2'.

I mean the wall is actually a sliding door, 3 feet of wall and then door... so theoretically it's only 3 feet length of wall

In this case, have to check your site then only know, because have to see do you have beam or column around, and see where can get the support and so on many thing.
