^U'll be getting "Call Failed" problems with Maxis sim card. Kinda annoying if u ask me. Good thing i don't make lots of phone calls.

going to get my hand on 1.1.3otb soon, so need to do some research....

a bit confused here on ziphone unlock...

1. jailbreak is to install and use 3rd party app
2. unlock is to use maxis, digi, celcom line
3. but what does activate do? do i have to do that?

I read a round, can someone confirm if i activate, jaibreak and unlock
1.1.3 otb usig ziphone, then insert sim card, everything will work, no need to
downgrade, etc....and bb will be 4_03_13G on fw 1.1.3?

there is just to much conflicting tutorails around , it confusing me....help appreciated.

currently on bootloader 3.9 u can unlock the latest baseband 4.03 while on bootloader 4.6 u can only unlock the earlier version 4.02. the baseband 4.03 is crucial to make the google map's location functional as example. maybe baseband 4.03 does come with some other features but i dunno much.

about downgrading the 4.6 to 3.9, it can be done but does come with great risk. and the risk is not that worth if u just wanna enable the location function in google maps. btw, there's some news that GeoHot will come with a new unlock method that downgrades bootloader 4.6 to a patched 3.9, making it 'forever' unlocked (still dunno how the outcome will be). thus it will be better if hold for the downgrade now, and wait for any great news to come.

jailbreak 1.1.4 and not unlocking it. Dunno if it is
true.. but for the meantime... think it's best not
to update yet.....

Yep it gets rid of everything from your iPhone,

you can get your contents back on your iPhone after restoring,

by simply choosing "restore from backup" instead of "set up as a new iPhone"

Search for my previous post about celcom 3g card.. It cannot be read by Iphone.. It a know problem.

It's celcom 128k 3G.. But it 50% chances a, some can read some cannot.

Other card seems to be fine. Now I saw a few prob with maxis 3G card.

Certain 3G Maxis sim card cannot send SMS. This is because Iphone cannot read maxis sms center. Can set the sms center no using *5005*7572*+60120000015# but sometime it will not works again.

No need to use v2.3 ... can straight use v2.5c. Zibri corrected the bug already.
