I need some opinion from you guys. Let me explain my situation.


First of all, i am planning to buy a DS Lite, and i already have a psp. Then last year Dec 27, i got my pmr results and i got straight As( I am 16).

So my father said he will reward me with a xbox 360 Elite which cost rm 1900, and he wants me to help him pay abit.

I have rm 400 savings which i plan to buy a DS later this Feb. My father said it is ok not to pay(he was joking), but i feel guilty if i dont help him.. cause its rm 1900!!(big amount)

I am also afraid when I have the xbox elite, i scared i got no time to play the DS.. since i already have a psp as well. And i not always go out of my house.

The purpose i buy a DS actually is to play it when i go outstation.. since my psp got so few games. And with so many games on the xbox elite, i really dunno.

In case my xbox kena 3RRoD, thats a different story. Anyway, im gonna add a fan to the xbox to prevent it.


So i need your opinion, should i help my papa? or i buy a DS?

since u dad wanna buy for u, why not u buy DS with your saving....

i'm going for DS if i were u.take x360 as a present from ur dad.but seriously..look at ur dad's financial.we dont know ur dad so we dont know he can afford it or he need to save hard for it.sometimes parent wont let their children know they're working hard to fullfill their children wish.so..it's about u urself.

if i were lakum's son.i would ask my papa to buy ps3,x360,wii,ds and wii.

if you are saying RM1900 is a big amount, then get a DS. If you xbox get rrod, both yr father and you will loud.

take xbox360 then sell ur psp..give money from psp to ur father.

u hv to ask urself do you need so many portables? Do you really facinated with xbox 360 although it might strike by 3rod? U even hv to ask urself do u hv so much time to play them all without affecting ur straight As...

It all depends whether you play games on the go or not lerr....

If you are travelling a lot, then get a portable console la.

If, like you said, you stay at home a lot, then get the xbox. Only question is, do you have yr own TV? If not, then you will be sharing TV time with yr family, then DS better gaming solution lah.

have your dad buy you the DS and you save money for an Xbox instead

Ya..buy PS3, forget the 360 if price is ur concern..a lot cheaper now compared to 360 n got extras to buy the DS. The shop might even give u some discount since u're buying 2 consoles at once.

yup indeed get a PS3 + 1 game u can play for few months where it will not effect 3RROD although PS3 games is exp but is worth coz is using BLUR-RAys hehe

save your papa rm400 where after 2 months ask your papa another rm200 to get another game or u can rent it at lowyat hehe

I completely understand your situation. RM 1900 is a lot of money. Now I don't know about how well can a fan take care of the RROD, I doubt that the fan is any good guarantee. Failure rate of the Xbox 360 (even for elite) is around 33%, compared to the ps3 which is less than 1%. The new falcon chipset for the 360 is around 10% failure rate. Yeah sure if RROD got 3 year warranty given by microsoft but only if you do not modify your console to play backup games.

but I think you'd be better off with the PS3. RM 1300 for a ps3, and you still have money left over for a game or two.

RM 1900 for the elite with no games? A typical console game (ps3 or 360) will cost you about RM 160 - RM 240. Some more if you want to play multiplayer online for 360 you need to pay a yearly fee! ps3 has free multiplayer, like the nintendo wii.

A DS for your situation just complicates matters.Your gaming time is divided among 3 consoles instead of two. It's not like you go out of the house that often as what you stated.

just get a ps3 + ds, no 3rod worries later

If you buy the DS, you will feel kinda wasted since your have a PSP.
If you didn't buy the DS, you will regret on not buying it on the first place.

Ur 16, u should be form 4 now , im 16 as well, but form 5, haven birthday yet, I guess u shouldnt buy xbox360, got high chances kena 3rod, get ds lite better.
Since ur form 4, n if ur in science stream u seriously wont have much time to play ur xbox360, all the subject is tough, nd to keep study to cope up wif the teacher. So for ur age I think u should get nitendo ds lite, no nd keep spamming the tv.
