i new to xbox360,and recently my brother got one xbox360 elite.
so is that good to put one intercooler on it??
and the position put at horizontal or standing is more good??

the rest are ok except nyko intercooler

avoid the one that sticks onto the back of the box. not sure about the USB one which goes on the bottom (if u place it vertically).

Why? What's wrong with those stuck on the back?

google and you'll get some really nice pics or if not try it on your own. for your information some of us here were those first group of ppl using nyko intercooler when it was available. few months after that all of us stop using it.

Hey, thanks. Tried googling it and found that majority of the problem is caused by it siphoning the power to the console or burning the power connector. Horrors!!!!

Even worse is I am also using a similiar cooler, but it is not NYKO. Is it a NYKO exclusive problem or the generic cooler design as a whole?

Second question is, what other cooler types do you guys here recommend if the Nyko types are not recommended?

Or is the XBOX default cooling system sufficient??? (I normally play it in an air-conditioned environment).

i am using elite with falcon motherbord.
it actually not that hot when i feel it,n i play 2-3 hour nia.
no extra fan,i think ok gua...

it doesn't matter you play it in air-con room or fan room ... according to Seller, if you play less than 4 hours ... you should be safe from 3RROD

dunt play play...prevent better than cure. dunt forget to cool it

Would also like to share what one vendor told me to help the cooling. He told me once finish playing, let the console run for additional 5-10 mins before switching off. He said that way, the fans will help cool the chips before shut down. Any point in that?

yaya...i also practice that.after play will remove all disc just put to run 10-20 min like that.
i think it help,coz when u run the disc the heat build up with running those nice nice graphic.
after leave it,it will become cooler.

Personal experience, last time, i usually played around 2 hours per day. Got 3ROD half year later. Now, i'm switching camp to PS3.

luckily I am not getting Xbox 360 Elite yet ... PS3 still best ... I play average 4 hours per day ... weekend more than 10 hours ... no problem at all (touch wood)

i want to ask.. if add external fan that cost rm60 can play (I only play friday, Saturday ,Sunday)8 hours straight on xbox 360 elite with falcon motherboard in living room(no air-cond)?

i think no one will give u confirm answer for that.rather play 8 hour straight,why not play 3-4 hour then stop a while for 1 hour then continue.is that better.i using elite too,but it actually not that hot as compare to old generation of xbox360.

Thats what i was thinking(but rest 1h 30 m instead). Anyway, if i purchase step down transformer, will it help preventing 3RRoD? since US use like 110v we use 240v.

This is what I always do during weekends. Play the 360 till I feel really sleepy, leave the console turned on, sleep, and when I wake up the next day I'd continue playing for a bit. I'd only turn it off when I don't feel like playing it anymore within the next few hours.
