1.1.3 Jailbreak - This method currently requires you be on 1.1.1/1.1.2 firmware




This jailbreak, like the 1.1.2 jailbreak, comes as an upgrade. This means you need to have a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone already, before you can begin.

Right now there's only a Windows iBrickr-based version of the image creator but I'm hard at work on a Mac version, so expect it soon.


Here's how you do it:

- Start with a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone with Installer.app installed.


- Plug in your phone via USB to your computer.


- Download, extract, and run iBrickr Special 1.1.3 jailbreak edition (..www.ikuwara.com/download/ibrickr-jb113.zip(2.76MB)).


- iBrickr will determine what firmware you are running on your phone and make sure you can run the update.


- iBrickr will then guide you through the process of obtaining and modifying the 1.1.3 firmware (make sure to read everything thoroughly).


- iBrickr will upload the new firmware image to your phone. Note that this only puts the file on your phone and does not modify it at all, yet.


- When iBrickr finishes (should take about 10 minutes), it will tell you to go to Installer and install the "1.1.3 soft upgrade" package. Do that.


- When the installer finishes (this should take another 10-15 minutes), your phone should reboot with a fresh activated 1.1.3 firmware.


1. This method might not be able to work with 1.1.3 OTB.

2. 1.1.2 OTB using xxxsim tested ok.

3. There is problem with WIFI and of course Google Map.

Hie there..

I just reasonly updated my iPhone 1.1.2 version ( jailbreak & using turbosim ) to 1.1.3 with itunes...Now my phone is LOCKEd !

I tried to downgrade back to 1.1.1 version and it works like only iTouch, but still cannot SImFree it...

So i heard this is becoz the baseband problem...

This means that i have to wait till 1.1.4 version comes out later only then there will be a unlock method ? SO how long its goin to take ?

I so frustrated about this now coz my iphone is Dead cant use it for time being....

So any latest news about this ?

Also guys, do take note that the method posted by the TS in the first post is the Nate True leaked iBrickr method. It may work better for some users, but the final and most recent and official release from the Dev Team is also an alternative to those who experience resilient problems with this method.

Anyways, attached herewith is a ZIP containing the iBrickr 1.1.3 Special Edition for the method mentioned by the TS. Good luck!

Errr sorry for butting in....

Just nak share my experience sikit....

I have jailbroken 1.1.3 using all methods ... Nate's, DevTeam (both installer based n shell based) and Conceited's 113JB.

Just to save some of you some trouble ... here's my thoughts...

- Nate's : quickest (copy direct Firmware113 to iphone) tapi paling banyak problem after update
- DevTeam's (installer) : simplest tapi slow yang amat masa nak update sbb download Firmware113 (162meg) from Apple
- DevTeam's (script) : quickest (copy direct Firmware113 to iphone) tapi kena make sure run syncfix.sh
- Conceited (installer) : simplest tapi slow yang amat gak ...

My personal choice, use DevTeam's script version.

Caveat using DevTeam's jailbreak... hard reset (hold sleep + home button till shutdown) will turn your phone into Restore mode bila on balik semula, soft reboot (hold sleep till slide to shutdown) is ok. In case got into Restore mode, just run Independence or iBrickr connect iPhone ... wait till it boot up.

Don't worry, there's no 'butting in' in sharing your experiences, mate I'm with you on the preference for the best JB among the 4 you listed, not that I've actually tried Nate's JB personally, but I believe I already can identify the main differences between the two which affect my decision too. And yeah, I was wondering about the same matter regarding the hard reset into restore mode. Scared the living daylights out of me the first time I saw it, my upgrade was far too screwed up anyways, so I did a restore as on-screen. Silly me

However, note that sometimes iBrickr may not be able to detect the phone in some cases. If that happens, use iPhuc instead to input these commands :
cmd setenv auto-boot true
cmd saveenv
cmd fsboot

Btw, for those yang pakai RipDev's CallData to solve caller ID problem, well, don't use it! Tak compatible sangat.

if you have unregistered number in your call list (those yg belum dalam Contacts), pressing the blue arrow button on the call list will crash your MobilePhone.app, thus, takleh nak save that number to Contact.

Best solution for CallerID, pakai AppSupport's build 9, just make sure
/System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/Support/PhoneNumberTemplates.txt just have

// Malaysia [my]
my 60 00 0
+ + + + ## #######

(3 line sahaja) - we need to use 9 digit to recognize the number properly (kalau tak 017-333-3333 n 03-7333-3333 will be seen as from caller ID)

Then edit US PhoneFormat (/System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIPhoneFormats.plist) to add the possible formatting like
(03) 2222-2222
(012) 333-3333
(04) 444-4444

or even

1 (800) 88-3333

automatically when dialing or viewing contact info...

oh, the other thing .../System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBook.framework/ABAddressFormats.plist

edit that too to add Malaysia in Country field bila nak home address of a Contact...

Hmm..... looks like sound advice to me, thanks mate! I'll uninstall my CallData now. Any idea whether either CallData or Mobile Enhancer will bring about negative effect to the phone besides what you mentioned above? No permanent damage from installing it, correct?

If anybody interested....

btw, the AppSupport binary in the folder is the most recent patched. It will make u feel it's faster when accessing SMS

How to add the patch?

1) Don't use Fugu (slow)
2) Download CyberDuck http://cyberduck.ch/Cyberduck-2.8.4.dmg
3) Go to your Installer.app on iPhone, download n install OpenSSH, while you are at it, download BSD Subsystem 2.0 again as well
4) Since you are in the Installer, add new source "http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo" then hit refresh
- Go to Utilities > Install BossTool - so that you can move the Application to /Media
- Go to Utilities > Install BossPrefs - so that you can turn off SSH when not in use to conserve battery

7) Run CyberDuck, select SFTP from the drop down list, use username/password : root/alpine
8) Navigate to "/"

AddressBook format
9) Drill into System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBook.framework
10) rename ABAddressFormats.plist to ABAddressFormats.plist.original just in case
11) Copy patched ABAddressFormat.plist in to the folder


Caller ID formatting
12) Drill into System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats
13) rename UIPhoneFormats.plist to UIPhoneFormats.plist.original just in case
14) Copy patched UIPhoneFormats.plist in to the folder

Caller ID Recognition
15) Drill into System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework
16) Copy the patched files/folder (AppSupport, AppSupport.original & Support) in the folder

Reboot

Added on January 31, 2008, 11:25 pmSome of iphone user is experiencing Installer crash or can't install or can't upload the patch.

Try deleting some of the installed Apps (the ones that u install via Installer.app) then install BossTool (source : http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo)

Run BossTool -> Move application folder, fonts, ringtones etc ... that should leave about 100Meg of free space...

The BossTool method is basically the previous symlink method in GUI style. What it actually does is that it moves the /Applications directory into /private/var/Applications, then creating shortcut in the root directory which links to the real folder, thus reducing an amount of space within the root '/' directory. Why this becomes necessary after the 1.1.3 upgrade and not previous firmwares? Well, it's not the firmware at fault here, Apple never changed anything here, but the Dev Team's JB did. They intended on allowing users more space for media files and other miscellaneous storage requirements, so they decided to resize the root '/' partition to fit the OS files just nice, thus leaving little space for apps.

The only correction to your statement is, this method only removes approx. 6% of the root partition space used up, because that's pretty much the size of the Applications in the phone. Small files.... Still, this extra 6% will help A LOT in your phone's OS partition, without a full partition, the phone won't suffer from lags and crashes at any time, and you get to install your Installer apps in peace
