Hi. I newie to RC tank, but very very interested to own/buy one. For months now I have been searching the net about it-yes it is getting more exciting and interesting but more confusing too...Any recommendations of where or what to buy. The german tanks eg Tiger tank seems ok. More interested in a metal track and gear airsoft RC tanks of scale 1:16.
Any advices from anyone will be most appreciated.

I'm not so sure where you could obtain one in Sabah/Sarawak, but I did saw some post in fb group that there are gathering in Brunei for RC tanks

As for metal tracks and gears, from what I read, it is advisable to at least obtain the full metal thingy for it, which mean you'll need metal tracks, gears, wheels, suspension just so the rest can cope with that extra weight.

If you're going for Tiger, find the one from the latest release, which utilizing the latest RX18 board, less faulty exterior and whatnot. The price should be around RM200-RM300, at least here in Kuala Lumpur.

Thanks Tiger 1. I will fly over to KL to buy one. Can you be a bit more precise as to where in KL I can buy it (Tiger tank)? Cost is not much problem as they say " a thing of beauty is a joy forever!" rclxub.gif icon_question.gif

well, a friend is selling in fb
http://www.facebook.com/pages/RC-Toys/4104...9008474?fref=ts
since nowadays its better IMO to buy from a person than a shop, the price would be lower smile.gif

Tiger 1 thanks. Will try to contact your friend at fb.

Generalpete to tiger 1.....I flew over to KL in the weekend and bought my 1st RC Tank- chose Tiger Tank.  Bought it at BTS 7th Floor.  A few other shops at diff floors are also  selling and the price ranges from Rm350 to Rm399.  Some sellors are just mere34 "sick jokers!!' trying trying to rip you off.  So be extra  cautious.  This particular shop at 8th Floor is a keen, friendly and serious sellor- amazing he speaks Hakka like me!  Overall I spent over RM600 there.  Besides buying the Tiger tank, I bought the metal gear, tracks and etc...Now I just can't wait for the weekend to unpack and test the tank.
I just got back last nite(MON nite).
Once I get this tank going, I will start a RC Tank Club here-strictly for adults!!  Uni students acceptable.
I hope you and anyone can give me tips and share your skills in playing, upgrading or repairing tanks.  From Newie to novice.
Thanks for all your very interesting whole hearted sharing...

HI all, does anyone have the contact number for the berjaya time square shop and the name of the shop..

Generalpete to ALL. The shop I went to on 17 NOV 12 was at 6th Floor Berjaya Times Square (BTS). Sorry for typo error on last message...Name of the shop is something with "G...." Hobby RC centre. 2 Very professional and friendly brothers are running the shop and selling tanks at reasonable prices. The charming lady there is their mum. All speaks Hakka like me too!! Amazing!! You can mention that your friend from Kuching bought a Tiger Tank from them. With good PR you may get a special discount??? rclxms.gif .....Other shops at different floors are also selling but very unfriendly and ignorant sales staff there...Prices vary and on the high to extreme range---cut throat price!!!
Have fun and may the force be with you.

ah, that's unfortunate

Archer13, could you do me a favor and snap the bottom of hull for both Panzer III and Panzer IV?

If I am not mistaken the StuG is labelled 1/18 regardless of the box scale (1/16). Just want a clarification smile.gif

Generalpete to Tiger 1 and Tankies
I have booked to fly over to KL on 07JAN2013 for a week. My hotel has not been booked yet as I still have not decided which one to stay in-at BTS or Midvalley?
Definately I will go to BTS to buy another rc tank. Now that I own a Tiger 1 already, do you have any suggestions what would be a good tank to buy next? Any other places to view or buy rc tanks in KL or nearby??? Has anyone seen any full metal hull or parts rc tanks??
I never realise what great joy it is to play with rc tank...created a new game-"Tank chasing my German Shepherd dog" and vice versa. Dog has her excercise. I get to go outdoor and release stress from office...At the end, we are all happy playing together.
Soon I have to get my my contractor to redo the house outside open space to create a tank battleground as part of the deco. I own and live in a large detached house. So have lots of space. My sitting room is my Ballroom. Outside compound will be for my tank/s besides orchid garden.
Are there any underwater rc tanks I wonder? At the moment I have a strange thought of installing a swimming pool for my dogto swim and instead of rearing koi fish why not put in some underwater rc tanks.. I did see some rc submarines for sale at my last trip.

Generalpete, if you're into modern tanks then ztz99 is the biggest and longest of the lot. Price is the same as king tiger which is more the other tank range. In the end i think you'll probably end up wilth all the models or most of what you can find as they are super addictive.

Acher13 my theme after watching the anime is painting my stug red hahahahahaha, pink, gold etc to match.

Generalpete to Deathpion. Hi. Any rc shops to recommend? Where did you see that King Tiger? ztz99 sounds interesting if I can find one for sale.
