well, after shopping around, found this deal from another shop:

RM2890 will get you a 450d + kit + 4gb sdhc Sandisk Extreme II card. Warranty from Canon Malaysia.

Tapi, no tripod, no filter, no bag or other accessories. want advice from sifus here this deal ok tak?

Opps sorry they gave me 4g free and 2g comes with camera..the lens are EFS18-55mm (issit standard?)..and canon bag as well..when i survey at sg wang they told me body+lens is rm3200++ ...plus i get 2hours free class at canon in singapore ..since my gf singaporean but live in msia she can go learn when holiday..

do you guys know where can me n my gf take cert or learn how to use dslr ? in damansara or ampang area..

i think my bargain was quite ok..consider sg wang wont wanna give free gift that much...

when someone already bought something and ask 'is this price reasonable' then how to answer? 

what if the price is not reasonable? i think is better to ask before buy and not after buy. 

Went to Canon shop today and asked about 400D and 450D. The guy told me that the extra on 450D are only live view, extra 2MP and the lens packaged with the kit has IS. That's about it. The price different is about RM700. Is it worth taking 450D now?

Anyway they're selling for RM3099 for 450D lens kit, with extended 3 years warranty (extra 2 years) + insurance from Canon in case the camera got stolen.

That's what one of the shop owner told me about the warranty. He said leave it blank and only write it down when need to claim warranty. I think the shop was offering me the same.. around 2800+ region. Need to confirm again.

I'm basically going for 450D cause

D60 only has 3 focus point.

D80 has 11 focus point but heard it does not has that "anti dust" function built in.

400D is suppose to be replaced by 1000D in September. (1000D has 7 focus point, 10MP and doesn't look as "pro" look as 450D) 
but it does come cheaper.

I'm new to dSLR. Is there any classes or seminar conducted by Canon for users like me? I seen Nikon & Sony does these before.

aiya, not rich la... Going to europe for honeymoon in august and need better gear for low light shootings... G9 cannot cope with night shoots and putting my 430ex attracts too many attention... So between these two, which do you sifus suggest for walkaround lens and a little bit scenery... Going for 2 weeks visit 9 countries so don't want to regret... Thanks.

cannot say like thatlah, kawan... been saving like crazy for almost five years, time to pamper myself a bit...the reason i chose 450D and not 40D is because still not sure whether i'm going to stick with the dslr world (depending on the pic quality i'm taking in europe)... my g9 has been a darling to use for the past 9 months but too many limitations.
about the lenses, my understanding is these lenses are sought after in the used market so no harm in buying the best all round lens... still, it all depends on whether i will get love at first sight with the 450D like my g9 when i come down to kl next week...
