Would be very curious on how Canon going to price 450D

Canon EOS 400D BODY = around 2k
Canon EOS 40D (body) = around 3.9k
Nikon D40 kit = around 1.7k
Nikon D60 SLR Digital Camera Kit with 18-55mm VR Lens = around 2.3k
Nikon D80 SLR body = around 2.8k
Sony Alpha A200 KIT = around 1.9k
Sony Alpha A350 KIT = around 2.7k


Since Canon can't place them higher than 2.8k (ppl might get D80 or A350)
Then can't be too cheap (cant fight price with D60)
if they do compete on price (price at 2.3k), this would mean killing themself in the long term?
but is good for us, i guess olympus, pentax and sony would join in the price war (Nikon mostly wont join in)

This means if my budget is below 2k, I am left with 400D (which is on sales since Nov2006)
This makes the newer D40 (compare with 400D) or even newer A200 a steal
(for me, newer tech mostly r better as it always means technological advancement)

Without a cheap entry level, i guess Sony would be eating in Canon Market?

guess it will drop 200-300 after 3-4 months, like what happen to 40D?
y on earth would i buy a new camera which the price going to depreciate so fast?
