cheapest dslr with live-view now.... actually only coming in March

live-view.. one shot.. silent mode 2 .. only sound is the window shutter closing.... and when you release the shutter button... shutter window will open..
so, you essentially half the sound... when hide your camera... before u release the button so the shutter window will open in isolation

sound from dslr comes from... 4 sources.. mirror flip up and down.. and shutter opening and shutting.. (and minimal sound from iriis of the lens)

with live-view on 40d 2nd mode.. only one sound.. when shutter button is pressed.. shutter window close... and when shutter button released shutter window opens.. at around 1.40min in... but his description is not so accurate thou.. 1st faint sound shutter window close.. 2nd sound window reopenned.

4 to 5x....mostly

at 2.4k actually... but will onlu be out on 7th March..... 2 or 3 months more... with competion from sony... it may drop to 2k...

2.4k ringgit malaysia for body only... but I was refering to Japan retail price out in 17 days...

retail unit demoed released today.. 21st

Launched in Japan today... played with one... sturdy/light.. little camera.. controls may not be as convinient as 40d... not use to it with the short time playing with it... Live-view activates as 40d does.. but still need to figure out how to enable the AF.. with either mirror flip down or the digital/onscreen AF

Cost just rm 2.6k on amazon.co.jp for body only

price update.. rm 2.4k for the 450d/x2 body only.. in jp..
