hi,newbie here ...i felt i learnt alot reading ur whole thread as for many years ive done all d wrong steps in taking honey.i used metal spoon to take it..
didnt know need to use plastic/porcelain spoon cz no one told me....even my mum oso didnt know-___-"
i also hv severe cough n lotsa phlegm when i drink cold stuff.so i bought those supermarket honey those w a bee mascot logo fr australia calpico or sth but it seems hmm unpure?

i oso hv pimples n sumtimes use honey as a face mask...unfortunately maybe due to synthetic honey it didnt cure my pimples but it only aggravated it...so i think the 'pure,alive honey' r d ones dat i should put on my face ><"hehehhe

really wish to try urs..but i live in sarawak...cant it b packed in a plastic bottle to b poslaju'd here as i saw other ppl on blogs were doin it hehehe...

You really must have a lot of patience reading my thread. This thread was started in Jan 2008 and it is now Aug. 2010. Anyway, a big thank you.

Actually, there is no harm taking honey with a metal spoon. It is just that sometimes you feel the metallic taste in ur mouth as this is raw honey. Most commercial honey has gone through some heating process in order to give you the clean golden look.

I am sorry, I cannot repack it into plastic bottle and sent to you. Honey does not have an expiry date but the plastic bottle do have. if you note sometimes you can smell the plastic if you use the plastic container for too long. The plastic will react with the honey esp. the raw honey. I did once thought of this before but upon asking from the suppliers of plastic bottles, they themselves advise me not to. So all honey are contained in glass which is sterile. Bec. glass is breakable, I cannot sent out anywhere other than cod within KL/PJ area.

As for your query about other people selling honey, I rather not comment about it. If you trust them then you buy. I am sure in Sarawak you do have honey like mine. Just look around the weekend markets. Take a look at the photos in my thread. There is some foam at the top and there will be some impurities like bits of honeycomb and sometimes dead bees.(now they have taken the bees out after much complains) This because they seive the honey just through a muslin cloth. No matter how many time you seive you will still find the impurities there unless you buy commercial honey which has gone through a filtration process. If you see foam at the mouth but no impurities, then do not buy lest you end buying ficticious honey. This is just my observation but as a precaution just dont buy.

oo thanx for the info on plastic bottles again...yea i found ur thread by chance while in search of face mask n spent 5 hrs reading/researching it non stop haha.

ill look out for those 'foam w no impurity 'pointers as i did see sum orang asli here selling but it seems like there is no foam jz dark liquid or there is foam but no impurity(looks evenly colored).

oh well...if i make a trip up to KL ill get from u but then if i bring it bk down here to sarawak will it survive the 2hr plane air pressure ride n not break even after ive packed it nicely??

Can i transfer the honey to other glass jars to b given as gifts or must i use ur bottle only

This 60 year old man is still learning things every day. Knowledge is great and if you are interested you never stop picking up things. Just like in life and studies or work. Do you notice that if you are interested in something, you tend to look more deeply into it and you understand and absorb the information faster. Just apply it in everything you do be it in studies or work and you will find yourself so much knowledgeable and confident. Once you achieve that nothing can stop you. Ah! diversion on main subject.

There's no problem surviving the 2 hrs ride if you pack it nicely. I believe, the planes do not allow you to carry liquid bottles as hand luggage, it is better to repack them into smaller bottles. Yes you can repack them into smaller bottles and redocorate them as gifts esp. Hari Raya is coming. I use to do that for a Japanese client and he was so taken up with it that he ordered fr shipment to Japan. However, transportaion costs was too high and I told him to abandon the idea. Shipping 25 bottles of honey costs him nearly US1K.

If you like I can teach you how to do it up nicely. Just pm me. It is simple but so much attractive that it will be a perfect gift. Add a bit of personal touch (that is the most important. Nowadays we seem to be lacking in that dept.!)Thought of doing that for Hari Raya but a bit too time consuming. Or for that matter, anyone can pm me. I like to share things that does not cost any money.

My advise is not to store in the fridge. Leave it outside at room temperature away from direct sunlight and you are ok. In ancient Egypt, when they excauvate the pharoahs tombs found honey wh is still edible. They dont have fridge.

I know.. it has been said before ) One question tho, you said that it is good to take a tsp before bed for a goodnite sleep or 1 tsp as soon as waking up prior of brushing teeth to increase alertness during the day, which makes me wnder..
