QUOTE(balachan @ Dec 11 2008, 03:09 PM) Dear balachanYes you can mix with water and drink. You can also mix it with apple cider or wheat grass or just plain water. However, use lukewarm water not boiling water as boiling water will kill the active ingredients in the honey. The other thing, if you mix with water you must keep it refrigerated if you have not finish it, otherwise the honey water will turn bad. |

QUOTE(thkhong @ Dec 10 2008, 11:54 PM) dear Sonny_san Thanks for the heads up. If I come across any queries, I will post it up here. Best wishes in your sales. Will let you know if I need to replenish.I recommend you take 0ne tablespoon either in the morning or at night. If you have a heavy day ahead of you then take it first thing in the morning. For a good night's sleep take it before you go to bed. just my recommendation. That tablespoon will keep you going for the whole day. it is not that you cannot take more but I have to look after your pocket as well heh heh heh... |

Regular consumption of honey improves one's health, but why is it so sweet? I know it is a combination of different complex sugar, but will this leads to other illness such as diabetes?

I know it is a combination of different complex sugar, but will this leads to other illness such as diabetes? Dear SonnyThe sweetness of the honey depends on the type of flowers the bees pollinate. Somtimes the flowers has more fructose and thus it is sweeter. In normal circumstances, honey does not lead to diabetes as these are natural sugars. However, it depends on each individual's body metalboilism. For example, a pregnant woman can develop diabetes during her term even without taking excessive sugars. If taken within limits there should be no harm to your health. Remember, anything taken excessively, no matter how good it is , can be detrimental to your health. A tablespoon a day is good enough. Thats what I advise . |

Orang Asli Used To Sell Fake Honey By Sakina Mohamed KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- Several Orang Asli have been unwittingly exploited by certain parties to sell a syrupy solution which is being passed off as honey at Orang Asli stalls at the Sungai Perak rest area. Those visiting the stalls, located along the North-South Expressway, could be easily lured into buying the amber-coloured, bottled solution, thinking that it is genuine wild honey harvested by the Orang Asli. A Universiti Malaya biochemist chanced upon the scam after testing samples of the honey from the stalls. Prof Kamaruddin Mohd Yusoff, who is from the Faculty of Medicine and specialises in the use of honey, said he bought the syrup intending to analyse the properties of wild honey harvested by the Orang Asli. Instead, he found it to be nothing but a simple syrup that had undergone some chemical treatment to mimic the physical properties of honey. When he asked for an explanation from the Orang Asli people, he was told that someone had asked them to sell the product. He said visitors often felt justified to pay big bucks for the honey as they believed the product was authentic. However, he was worried about the repercussions of such sales, since many local and foreign tourists visit the stalls, which had been there for years. "People buy this honey thinking it is more potent than those in the market when it's not, and they may need it for medical use. "There may also be foreign tourists who have bought this "honey", thinking it is pure Malaysian wild honey, and it would be very bad for Malaysia's image if by any chance they discover that they have been duped," he said. He said he had forwarded the matter to the relevant ministry but had yet to receive a response. -- BERNAMA |

QUOTE(lms2005 @ Jan 15 2009, 01:03 PM) An honest response will be :1. If you are in doubt of the seller or product, DONT BUY. You can choose to buy from reputable firms or if you happen to balik kampung, you can get it from the kampung folks a bottle or two. 2. Do you really need this product. if not necessary, dont buy. Why waste your money.Just read the thread and store the information somewhere. It will come useful some day! Happy reading |

Dear rickysim84If you had followed this thread, ur query has been brought up several times. Anyway, to answer you, pure honey does crystallize when put in the fridge for a long time. Remember honey is hydroscopic. i also had the thought that pure honey does not cystallize and had tried it out in the early stages. Well it does not crystallize. However, whilst delving deeper into the website, honey growers do come up with the fact that honey can crystallize but has not effect on the quality of the honey unless you boil it. Hope that answer you query and sori for the late reply. Regards |

Yes the honey is brown and will turn black after sometime. The bubbles will also stop after sometime once the honey settles down. It sometimes depend on the type of bees that produce the honey. wat you describe, I think you can safely buy from there. If not sure buy one bottle first. The honey that i bought from the market is around rm80+ the colour is brown and not black and it emits bubbles.
