QUOTE(myjunk @ Mar 16 2008, 12:09 PM) The tokina 12-24 is killer. I think Goldfries has one. no ler, i are using Sigma 10-20. i did consider the Tokina 12-24 f4 but it's not the widest available for cropped sensor body.

You'll be surprised what you can learn in photography just by watching various ASTRO channels.

watch America's Next Top Model. that alone can teach you a thing or 2. observe their lighting / setup. observe how they direct the models.
look at how they comment on the shots, like for example head not pointed high enough. or shadows not highlighting their features.
i learn from that. i use that when i direct my subjects.
then look at those cooking related programs. Say Nigella or something, the camera man likes to zoom in on her and the food and also gives nice bokeh and blablabal. you can learn some interesting composition there.

well, just to show how we could learn things from there.
quite a few other shows la can learn stuff, one guy in the Animal Planet also photographer. unfortunately the show just show him like go near snakes, snap and get bitten and all but we do get to pick up a little here and there.

yes. from filmography you can realize how tones (warm like CSI miami, cool like CSI NY) can affect the mood.
for me, most imformative is still ANTM. there's another reality show involving a few teenage models but i can't remember the title, channel or time.
great looking girls. one of their session was with Gil Bensimon. learn how he interact with the girls.
