It is better to ground the earth to any pin screw, provide the pin screw is grounded.

How to ensure the casing is grounded, well, remove the earth wire and connect it to the pin screw at the casing.

in this way, all pin screw is grounded.

Grounding the OPA Earth ground to the pin screw helps to improve the vocal. without ground, vocal sounds blur. The better way to ground the OPA earth is to solder a wire to the mid point of the RCA jack and use that as ground.

Welcome to OPA testing. U are much lucky than me or Abel in the sense u are rolling HDAM whereas we are rolling opamp like 627, 1057, etc.

I have those evox cap. U can use it and solder it onto the OPA Earth.

This does not apply to OPA Sun loh.

Hi steve,

are u coming over for a review of the DAC 100. RAV is interested and I guess many others.

I mean Sun old version (Without cap) is different than the Sun V2. Sun V2 modified the cap, resistor and additional Evox cap.

The cap is free of charge. just how to send to you only.

Yours is a black wire connected to the casing. Remove that and plug to the screw tap.

What I found is the zero casing is painted with epoxy. so if u use a multimeter and measure the screw tap, it is not connected to ground.

Some people like to tap the OPA ground to the screw, which is floating.

try to check and see with a multimeter. make sure u connect one end to the Earth of the incoming power supply which is the true earth.

[Make sure power switch off before checking lol]

that is very dangerous act. The power connector pin is not insulated. If forget to off supply can get electrical shock.

Finally I got the buffer installed. The works is now almost complete. Hopefully by Sunday I can get the Franken Plus to works as it is. Good thing is I can switch to Franken too. without plus.

Buffer improve in the dynamics and the smoothness of sound.

That mean the opa-sun/earth/moon also put in the slot same as the opa627 in DAC section?
I thought their shud put in headphone amp section?
I using headphone now,so may need to upgrade the amp section to be more warm taste because ESW9 plus the dac sound like a bit bright for me...

Franken Zero is more energy and punchy and clean than stock zero.

DAC100 more musical than Franken zero. Better components and design.

CD63 more natural and analogue sounding and accurate. Deep punchy bass and soundstage is more on DAC 100 and Franken zero.

Last but not least, the Van Tan Hoh sounding of 102MKIII

The buffer is good except I havent setup properly.

overall zero being budget dont have good components as compared to dac100. DAC100-> 10,000uF, MUR,etc

aiyo. no one comment on how is the KEF Cresta 10 + audiospace with 6V6 tube ah.

After listening much about Cresta even with Franken, I find it quite sweet.

Personally I think it's quite a good combination, quite musical yet with decent dynamic, the audiospace tube got two type of output selection? Seen Abel switching between 2 modes, the upper one does sound more refined and polite while the lower one sound more punchy and the sound is more compact. Loves the lower one more ...  laugh.gif  laugh.gif Seems more synergy during our listening session, I found that most of time we were testing about dynamic and bass impact biggrin.gif

The lower one is minimal Negative feedback. It gives the lowest distortion.

The upper position is more Negative feedback, more output power and more distortion.
