QUOTE(Matrix @ Jan 22 2008, 08:58 AM) I actually split the astro to 4 TVs... S-video - main TV downstair Composite - HTPC RF output (split using a splitter) - 2 TVs upstairs. However, one of the output signal is quite poor, i'm not sure it's the splitter problem or what. For remote, last time i bought a device from Jalan pasar, it can tap on to the RF cable to transmit the signal from upstair to downstair...only about RM25. Unfortunately, it only last 3 months...Made in China...can't expect much. It could be your cable too long. I have the same problem last time and I changed the channel setting on the Astro to higher and the signal is better. Try it.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jan 22 2008, 10:07 AM) I dun understand. What do you mean by change channel setting to higher? One of the output has pretty good signal, but the other is poor. I switched the cable and it's reversed, so i can confirm it's not the cable problem...more like the splitter problem. I'm trying to find a good splitter now, but no time to go Jalan Pasar yet. There is a setting in the Astro decoder....called RF channel, I think....forgot already...it has been long time. Can check for u when I am at home. I think the default setting is 36 or 38. I changed to 40.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jan 22 2008, 11:32 AM) Thanks. Look foward to ur reply later. ok. What I said earlier was the reverse On your Astro decoder, go to installation setup -> manual configuration -> modulation channel. Change to the lowest which is 21. This will change the RF output channel of the decoder. Then, you have to re-scan the channel on your TVs again to search for the right one. Good luck.

QUOTE(nordingh @ Dec 10 2008, 10:19 PM) Current Astro decoder still use old technology, not even RGB connector is use. There is 3 type use in Astro: 1. S-video (better PQ) - must use this is possible. Still need to have RCA for audio. 2. RCA - most common one - I use this one to transfer pict to my room, might change to S-video later. 3. RF (Coax) - avoid to use this if possible. My friend use 20 meter cable, cannot get any signal. As advise by the expert, if you have a very good AMP/Receiver which have HDMI to connect to LCD-TV, better to connect Astro to AMP first. Most good AMP/receiver will have an option to upscale the Astro quality, before transfer to TV using HDMI. too bad my old Amp only have RCA.... My coaxial cable runs about 20M. No problem to get the signal. My father's coaxial cable even longer. Also no problem.

QUOTE(ReaperOfSoul @ Mar 24 2009, 03:14 PM) Wow..it has been like so long Anyway, i bought this device called AV Link from Jalan Pasar , RM 30 ++ only. Its connected using those old arial cable and its not clear when connected to the lcd tv upstairs The cable is around 10 metres long and could this be the cause of it being blur ( not those pixelated blur, its more to the one u experience during the older days ) One more thing, is there any other devices that allow me to connect to 3 or more tv's ? Thx PS : RM 300 sounds quite good if it can give a good quality image Where is this device available ? Thx If your cable too long, you can reduce the modulation channel in Astro setting menu to improve the transmission. You will have to re-scan the channel on your tv upstair later on.
