yes on the adapter itself

There something wrong with your adapter. Try to call HP. Maybe they can change the adapter.

well, from what i have read - did extensive research on this model as i am going to buy it. those with the models dv2000~dv2500 are very prone to having overheating issues and most of the time the motherboard and maybe the graphics card too would need replacing. since the dv2600 model till now, the dv2700, there have been no problems yet, only some ppl having problems installing xp on the dv2700..

am getting the special edition version... will pull the trigger next week for :
2.5GHz T9300 processor 6MB L2 cache
2GB RAM
250GB hard disk
128MB nvidia 8400 gs card
lightscribe dvd drive
wireless-n with bluetooth
fingerprint reader, mic, webcam
high capacity 6 cell batt

if i can wait till july, hopefully the montevina version will be out.

some dv2700 owners claim that it runs much cooler than the previous 2000 series, but a bit warm where the hard disk is...
*
Montevina is expected to be out in the mid of this year. It will be embedded with 45nm processing chip. The small size of the chip implies better efficiency, hence faster performance, less heat, longer battery life. Better wait if u don't reli need a laptop at this moment. I presume the next dv2000 generation will at least come with nvidia 8600 series.

hey guys...the 13.3 inch for hp has arrived, hooray no more bulky HP. The new dv3000.. laugh.gif hold on to ur wallet if u can..

check out http://www.engadget.com/photos/hp-dv3000/713148/
*
The design seems much simpler compare to the dv2000. Maybe this time, HP is targeting the business oriented users with casual users with their dv series. It shud look lot nicer in real life considering the fact that it is almost as neat as VAIO SZ.

Do update on the launch in Malaysia later.

i just got my new dv2711tx notebook...
and i', having problems installing the windows in it..
the laptop itself ady comes with windows vista home premium...
help??

Is there something wrong with the preloaded windows or r u installing a XP?

In former case, try to create backup dvd (search 'recovery') and reformat ur laptop using the disc. For more convenience, try to boot the laptop and keep pressing F11 or F10 (I forget) till recovery manager appears. U will be guided from there.

For latter case, I'm not really sure how to do it as HP doesn't seem to support XP no more with the new DV2000 series but u can ask a guy called William. He's very active in mobile computing forum. Also try to checkout other HP forum.

Good Luck.

Hi guys,

I'm going back to Malaysia after being at overseas for 2 years and I wonder where can I go to get the best deals for these HP pavillion 14" laptops in KL? I've seen some advertised at Lowyat Plaza but they seemed out of date.

The 2nd thing I would like to know is, is it possible to buy customized HP laptops from these outlets?
Please advise, thank you!

Low Yat quite slow in updating their products. I still see some old toshiba M200 tho now there are already M300. I think they wanna clear up the old stock.
U can customize via hp.com.my

Hey guys,

I've just saw the dv2844TX and dv2843TX being launched on HP M'sia's website. It's RM4999 now. Possible the price will drop in a couple of weeks?
*
Wait for PC Fair this early August (maybe end of this July). If the prices don't drop, u surely will get better offers like warranty extension or freebies.

hi all, just wondering how HP Pavilion dv2703TX performs in gaming. I'm planning to buy a moded HP Pavilion dv2703TX  with the specs as below:

Intel Centrino Processor Technology
- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5550 (2MB L2 Cache, 1.83GHz, 667MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
2048MB 667MHz DDR2 Memory, 160GB 5400rpm Hard Disk
DVD +/- RW Double Layer Drive with LightScribe
Integrated Bluetooth, Inegrated 5-in-1 Digital Memory REader Slot
nVIDIA 512mb GeForce 8600M GS
14.0" TFT WXGA High Definition Widescreen LCD Panel with BrightView Technology

What do you guys think of this spec and the price is at rm3000. Opinions ?
*
8600GS for 3K? Thats too good to be true.

The T5 cpu is a turn off but with RM3k is already considered sufficient
tho, it warm up easily with the high end graphic chip.

Do upgrade the RAM to 4gb, u will get 3gb in return (for 32bit Vista), this will help with the heat as u will b
using more physical ram instead of virtual (from hdd)

Great specs. I guess it also comes with Nvidia Pure Video and a Blu-Ray drive.
