This song was dedicated to Nakasone Hikaru, the real-life inspiration behind Abe’s character in the film. “Tengoku kara no Yell” is based on the true story of Nakasone, who founded a free music studio for young musicians in Okinawa called ‘Ajisai Ongaku Mura‘. Nakasone took out a loan to provide young high school students with the opportunity to play music and pursue their dreams in the basement of his bento shop. He produced many groups who made major debuts, including Stereopony; unfortunately, he passed away in November 2009 at the young age of 42 from kidney cancer.
