you need iTunes, an iTunes account, and the ability to purchase with that account. this is for the 5 apps.
however, upgrading to 1.1.3 firmware is free via iTunes.

QUOTE(j3rry @ Jan 24 2008, 12:01 PM) which model worth to buy ? 8G ? or 16G ? Ipod touch can view ms word, powerpoint n pdf ? personally, i have the 16GB and love it to death. as for your 2nd question, in its native form (straight out of the box), it cannot handle any attachments. once it is jailbroken, there is a PDF viewer app that can be installed. But i don't think it can handle MS office docs (anyone can confirm this?). for more detailed information about unleashing the power of the ipod Touch, please check the sticky thread in this sub-forum. QUOTE(lone_rider @ Jan 25 2008, 09:24 AM) Added on January 25, 2008, 9:28 amI think i will stick to jailbreak method to try it max potential.. When the time come i'll be back to virgin state..heheh We can alway restore to factory condition right? Can anyone confirm this? from everything that i've read so far, yes. a simple restore via iTunes will get your ipod back to "virgin" state but all your songs and vids in your ipod also gone so need to resync.
