QUOTE(wjie20 @ Feb 16 2008, 09:31 AM) oh thanks... mine is psp1002, australia. so...in which case mine would be? NTSC/J, NTSC/UC and NTSC/J Asia? I think NTSC/J and NTSC/UC is applicable to PS2 but not PSP. PSP games are not region coded.PSP1002 is a Region 4 PSP intended for sale in Australia. It will only play Region 4 UMD movies if you are using OFW. You may be able to play most/some of other region UMD movies if you are using CFW. How to do it? Have u try to play other region UMD movie with ur cfw PSP? No...i'm not talking about ripping it to ISO. There's nothing to do. Even setting the Region Free option in recovery menu usually makes no difference. It depends on the UMD. From my collection of UMD movies, Region 2 UMDs from Japan seem to work only on Region 2 PSPs. I have one Region 2 UMD from Europe which works on PSP of any region. All of my Region 4 UMDs from Australia works fine on PSP of any region except for one which only works on my PSP1002 (Region 4). |

QUOTE(Lakum @ Feb 18 2008, 03:01 PM) That mean cfw fake region still cant play any other region UMD movies. Maybe ur region 4 UMD movie is like....region free? Lol...dont know. I only got region 2 (japan) UMD and it cant be play on region 1 PSP. Region 2 PSP can play both region 2 UMD from japan or europe. I think it means that CFW can play some UMD movies from other regions. My Region 2 UMD from Japan plays only on Region 2 PSP. My Region 2 UMD from Europe plays on Region 2, Region 3, Region 4 PSPs. 11 of the Region 4 UMDs from Australia plays on Region 2, Region 3, Region 4 PSPs. 1 of my Region 4 UMD from Australia plays only on my Region 4 PSP. QUOTE(greyfox @ Feb 19 2008, 05:05 AM) QUOTE(bill3 @ Feb 18 2008, 03:24 PM) I think it means that CFW can play some UMD movies from other regions. read this and think My Region 2 UMD from Japan plays only on Region 2 PSP. UMD Regions DVD region coding has been applied to most UMD movies, although a large majority of UMD games are "Region 0" ("All Zone") which makes them playable in all PSP systems. * Region 0: Worldwide (in-flight-movies, cinemas, ferries, etc.) * Region 1: United States, Canada, U.S. territories, Latin America * Region 2: European Union, Japan, Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland, French territories * Region 3: Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore * Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands * Region 5: Russia, Eastern Europe, Pakistan, India, the majority of Africa, North Korea, Mongolia * Region 6: Mainland China Model numbers On the base of the PSP is the model number of the unit. This number indicates the intended region the unit was designed for. These model numbers are as follows: * PSP1000 - Japan * PSP1001 - USA * PSP1002 - Australia * PSP1003 - United Kingdom * PSP1004 - Europe, Middle East, and Africa * PSP1005 - Korea * PSP1006 - Hong Kong, Singapore * PSP1007 - Taiwan * PSP1008 - Russia * PSP1009 - China * PSP1010 - Mexico This post has been edited by bill3: Feb 19 2008, 11:30 AM |

QUOTE(another78 @ Apr 28 2008, 03:12 PM) need some help here. i bot the component av cable and was eager to view the movies via the tv. the problem that i face now is i can hear the audio but couldn't view the movie at my tv screen? i've done plugging the cables out and in but still couldn't see it. I read at the manuals and the troubleshoot section said that if i'm using the ntsc tv and i need to contact the manufacturer. what does that mean? can u,psp tech savvy, help me on this. My psp is the slim type & psp-2000 (the cables also support psp-2000). please guide me on it. thank you. Have you configured Connected Display Settings accordingly before selecting Switch Video Output?Settings -> Connected Display Settings -> TV Type -> 16:9 or 4:3 Settings -> Connected Display Settings -> Component / D-Terminal... -> Progressive or Interlace If your TV does not support progressive scan, you have to set this to Interlace. In interlace mode, you won't be able to view games on your TV, but you will be able to view everything else (movie, music, etc.). You can also switch display to TV by pressing and holding the display brightness button for 5 seconds. Pressing the button again will switch display back to PSP's LCD.
