QUOTE(kamikraze @ Nov 19 2008, 03:40 AM) learn programming not really hard lol.. me comp science student act.. Programming in PSP homebrew shouldnt be difficult c or c++ is the foundation language of most of common use programming language today.. like java n php.. huhu.. self learning is very useful for job application for engineering course.. Remember the most common Hello World when most of the people start learning programming CODE #include <pspkernel.h> #include <pspdebug.h> #define printf pspDebugScreenPrintf /* Exit callback */ int exit_callback(int arg1, int arg2, void *common) { sceKernelExitGame(); return 0; } /* Callback thread */ int CallbackThread(SceSize args, void *argp) { int cbid; cbid = sceKernelCreateCallback("Exit Callback", exit_callback, NULL); sceKernelRegisterExitCallback(cbid); sceKernelSleepThreadCB(); return 0; } /* Sets up the callback thread and returns its thread id */ int SetupCallbacks(void) { int thid = 0; thid = sceKernelCreateThread("update_thread", CallbackThread, 0x11, 0xFA0, 0, 0); if(thid >= 0) { sceKernelStartThread(thid, 0, 0); } return thid; } int main() { pspDebugScreenInit(); SetupCallbacks(); printf("Hello World, Lowyat PSP Thread!"); sceKernelSleepThread(); return 0; } Here is a simple homebrew program and will show Hello World, Lowyat PSP Thread! , Its not written by me, I copy and paste and edit it to show its easy (Might contain error, so point it out if you can spot it). But not many MALAYSIAN writes homebrew program except Playboy21. This post has been edited by chicaman: Nov 19 2008, 06:39 AM |

Even if datel tool is able to turn on the service mode, but that doesnt mean custom firmware is working.
Read here my explanation, add some traffic to my blog http://kenwee.blogspot.com/2008/11/psp-300...-hacked_19.html This post has been edited by chicaman: Nov 20 2008, 04:25 AM |

QUOTE(benwong88 @ Nov 22 2008, 02:15 AM) YES to umd games that are in ISO/CSO format. ISO file is image file for optical disc and the disc we are refering to is UMD.NO to home brews. (home made games) or atleast a certain few. ISO is the uncompressed file of the game. CSO is the compressed one, so by theory ISO games should load faster, but CSO saves space as it shaves off about 20%+ of capacity of the game. CSO still works, although faster or not we really don't know. an extra second or 2 to wait won't kill. most wouldn't mind. overall it would be CSO ftw. CSO is the compressed version of ISO aka Compressed ISO, it doesnt really compress by 20%. It depends, some ISO can be compressed more than 50% while some less than 10%. It depends on what type of game and what is the content of the ISO. Of course CSO still works, however if the game involves too much of 3D graphics and high framerate like NFS Carbon, Ridge Racer, the gaming experience will be different, loading slower wont kill, jerking will kill the FUN of the game. Starting from FW 3.80 and above, there is a change of MS reading in Firmware causing some slow down in loading and slow down in CSO reading where it jerks like Ridge Racer, Prince of Persia etc. Thats why DA released 3.71 fatmsmod. But the best is still umcompress it to ISO. |

QUOTE(DFlo @ Nov 25 2008, 01:32 AM) As far as I am concerned, custom firmware topics/matters are allowed in here. Pirated games are not. If you don't like that, get out of LYN. Simple. Isnt it a little contradicting? How do u know I am talking bout pirated games in the first place? It could be me who bought the UMD and rip it out for my own pleasure because I wouldn't want to bring my UMD game with me all the time and I can hack my games just like what you guys did by hacking the psp as well. How do u know I dont like it the rules and regulation? Freedom of speech doesn't come with freedom to offend. edit: Oh btw u win, its gonna be a never ending argument...
