QUOTE(Makakeke @ Apr 10 2008, 05:02 AM) And I hated KLC's song choice, bloody pretentious. I think thats really harsh. There is nothing wrong with singing a Christian song (this is America after all, and KLC is that all American girl personality), which was also good song by any measure. I think its weeks like this which are the toughest. The ones who usually deliver consistent great performances visibly falter (Carly, Cook, Brooke), while the 'underdogs' blew it out of the water. Do you kick out the consistent ones over a poor performance, or punish an improving contestant? Tough pick. Burga - who honestly thinks its Brooke's turn to go this week, as she has been rather boring the past few weeks.

QUOTE(Makakeke @ Apr 10 2008, 12:05 PM) The other time Castro sang "Hallelujah", he didn't just sang it well, but it felt heartfelt which comes hand in hand with that song choice. KLC for me, is just singing that song to draw votes, and not because she means it, just like the time she sang the "patriotic" song. Actually I think she was pretty in the zone with it. As for personality, I think Syesha comes up even shorter in that department (as did Ramiele) and Brooke's is somehow slightly annoying imo. I think its clear that Americana is really her element, and if it happens to draw votes, she's smart to choose it. This post has been edited by BurgaFlippinMan: Apr 10 2008, 01:28 PM

QUOTE(Makakeke @ Apr 10 2008, 05:32 PM) Malaysian radio sucks, so don't compare good music with the music you hear on the radio. And also that many hits abroad arent hits here.

QUOTE(Makakeke @ Apr 10 2008, 05:52 PM) Which I dunno whether it's a good thing or not. Most of my friends don't share the same taste as mine, but in the mean time, that separates me from the radio listeners I usually can't be bothered. I love movie scores, the Beatles, some indie stuff....thats it.

the Archie kid has a good voice, but he imbues his (almost always slow) numbers with very predictable lilts and I think he usually overdoes it...anyone else think so?

OMG I take back whatever I said previously about Syesha. She absolutely owned the night this week! The Cook dude was damned good too, though if I were to nitpick I didn't think the edgy shouty last note fit in with the rest of the performance. But again, Syesha...wow! And she looked great!

I think Cook deserves the title, but I would love to see Castro win if just for the reaction...

Well, the crap guys are edging closer and closer to the title. William Hung didnt make it through the auditions, Sanjaya got further and Jason nearly made the Top 3! Good progress. Muahahahahha
Though to be fair Jason can actually sing darn well.....
...when he wants to.

I won't say he is a crappy singer. More like a crappy competitor. It always seems to me he entered just for fun, got further than he expected to, then kept on producing nonchalant performances (with an odd brilliant one here and there) to see how far he could go out of curiosity. He never seemed that he wanted to win it.

QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ May 9 2008, 11:40 AM) nah i rather see AI come out the new rule of void vote where the judges can decide 2 canceled the total vote any time and kick out the ones with high vote that doesnt deserve 2 go through based on the performances I think a veto vote is a bad idea. Perhaps a 30% (10% for each judge) influence would be alright...

QUOTE(darren84 @ May 22 2008, 01:54 PM) I find your opinion rather prejudiced, certainly everyone has his own zone and style of music, you cant really ask Michael Buble to sing rock songs, and calling him a bad singer. I called defaultname365's statement rubbish, and I did not say DavidA was a bad singer.

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ May 22 2008, 07:34 PM) OK, for some reason Mr. BurgerFlippinMan or whatever his name is called this 'opinion' rubbish. Wonder if he had ever passed a communication course in college or whether he needs one. I said 'NEAR-PERFECT', so its perfect. 'Flippin' on me like that is rubbish. Well now, its good that every once in a while we get someone like you in these forums. I never interpreted your 'near-perfect' as 'perfect'. You are reading something which I never wrote. My opinion, unlike yours is that DA's run to the final was far from even being 'near-perfect'. Yes, everyone has an opinion, but in some cases like this one, there are also right opinions, and wrong ones. Go plug that in to your little brain.
