That's what analysts said good about Resorts. Without the impairment, the operation was in fact more profitable for the quarter/year as compared to the previous quarter/year. And good also since they have to pay less taxes.
But what happened to share price.. huge selling and dropped into red. Most people only look at the end/ profit figure.
Haha... if I tell you I haven't read any of what they wrote, will you believe me? But serious, I didn't, and that's just my personal opinion, I might be wrong... haha...
Yes, that's the real world, but those who dump their share in panic might loss their very purpose of buying it at the first place - enjoy the long term growth with the company. But I am not trying to influence anyone, I just speak out what I think, and what I think might be wrong, again... haha...

I'm a first time trader here, when will Genting announce when the dividends will be paid? Will it be 4 sens per share or 7 sens per share? Are Genting dividends paid every quarter or half yearly? And are Genting dividends taxed?

The final dividend will be 4 sen (tax 25%, part or all of the tax amount can be claim back if your tax bracket below the highest bracket), and the ex date will be announce later, after they decided on the AGM date (because final dividend need to be vote in AGM), so there will be sometime from now.
7 sen was included with 3 sen interim dividend (already distributed).
