That shows how few of us are really investors. There are no such thing as a short-term investor : short-termers are called market players/traders. An investor takes a long-term perspective of all the moves he/she makes.

So, if we think that PBB is a good investment and will make good capital gains in a 3-5 year horizon reaching RM9 or RM10 again, what is 50 or 60 sen now?

those who think that pbb will reach below 6 probably need to wait for downturn again .as it seems like pbb is holding strong at 7 ........... Some more hehe very familiar this clause ....... How is the current economy and political will have any influnce....... only the crylstal ball will tell ......

Added on April 4, 2009, 10:39 pmok.... PBB stays around 7.80 ..... with the lowest recently at 7... so we are going to wait for the Q1 result to be out probably another 5-6 weeks time....if the profit shrinks a lot, there would be another sell down i guess....
but if it is able to sustain the profit.... then PBB may stay and most probably another round of rally.... but yet...if the dividend can be sustain...those who bought around 7.00..... might have gotten the Golden Goose........

Early next week Q1 2009 results should be out. Watch out for it. I personally think it will likely exceed expectations.

seems the pbbank is gaining for the past week or so...
do you think this year the dividend be like the past 55cents?

2009 Q1 profit slightly lower compared to corresponding period of 2008 due to the one time payment from ING in 2008 Q1...
so meaning to say that they r still making $$
regret of not getting more during the price fall to 7.xx region

if later it fall back to 7.xx, sure tons of ppl buying in....

but..later when it drops to 6.xx or further... ppl will say aiyah... i should have wait first...and bought it at 6.xx....

0217 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Citigroup keeps Public Bank (1295.KU) at Sell with MYR5.77 target price following lender's 18% fall in 1Q09 net profit to MYR589 million. Says Islamic banking income, treasury/FX business weak, NIM declined 10bps on-year due to lower interest rate environment, continued competition for consumer loans. Also, warns both mortgage (now at BLR minus 2.3-2.4%), auto hire purchase (now 4.0%) rates "remain under downward pressure." Adds, bank retains 15% loan growth target for this year but "management views it may not be achieved and will depend on how long the economic downturn will last." Shares last down 1.2% at MYR8.35. This time i can proudly say that i didn't miss the boat at all.

For my 4715 counter, I'm still holding it for so long. I have strong confident it will shoot back up in future. I will keep on posting the latest result in here.

PBBANK has anything to do wiz 4715?

I think you are misunderstanding. First stock i buy is resort . Its in a very high price. I have asked some opinion from them. They indeed give me a very good advice.

4715 = resort
1295 = Public bank.

I have missed so many boat on public bank last time. This time i didn't miss out the boat . I ride with it. i buy at 7.50.
Just only 10,000 unit only.

For resort, I think i have to wait longer. They know how much i purchase ? I just try to let them know how far i progress ? 4715 is indeed my first purchase.
