If one bought at the highest price in 1997 (close to RM 3), now already profit more than 200%.

DanielW,

I think it is a lot more than that. I bought RM7 about 3 years ago and I had collected about RM2 worth of dividend. As per 1997, I think the stock had split a few times too.

Cherroy would know this.

Interesting to see that :-

When PBB fell to around  rm 7, the same people talked about World Great Depression, just not long ago. Could PBB do well in such a condition ?

Now at RM 10 , diff judgment again. Now could be W recovery ?

At RM 12, again maybe V recovery ?

Talking is very easy,  read enough over the internet would do . Just follow the consensus ( the majority ) , then you would never go wrong , not too far off.

But the fundamentals of PBB stay more or less the same over the past year.

The question is : Are you a fundamentalist in the first place , so to speak ? If you are, seldom see you speak about facts and figures here ?  Or you are so certain of PBB that there is no need to read their annual reports ?

I saw people invested in AIG about 3 to 5 years ago, none of them are happy now.

And Investing is about the Future, what's is ahead to look for ? though past dividend records may carry weights.

SKY 1809,

A) I DO NOT CARE about the price level except if it drops below RM 7 again, I will buy more.

B) As per annual report, I watch for NPL level. As long as it stays low, I am fine. If there is substantial change in NPL level, I will re-evaluate my position at PBB.

People usually say that when the Teh HP retires permanently, PBBANK will suffer. Is that really true? I mean a big bank like PBBANK should have excellent succession plans. I think the problem lies in Teh HP popularity, PR skills, and is always seen as the face of the bank. His successors should start emerging out of his shadow.

tigana,

So what??

If ENOUGH PEOPLE believe that, it will be an excellent buying opportunity. In fact, you want this to happen.

so meaning entering now is a suicide?

sohkeong,

Why are you buying PBBank??

There are 2 kind of people that buy PBBank,

1) Dividend investor

People that buy PBBank for the dividend. As long as the the dividend yield as per the stock price, they buy. They judge whether the dividend yield is attractive as compare to the FD rate. They have a benchmark. For example, if the dividend yield is 2 X FD Rate, they buy.

And, they ONLY sell if the stock do not generate good enough dividend anymore.

2) Buy and sell people.

People that buy and hope to make money by selling at higher price. PBBank's stock is NOT VOLATILE. This is NOT a good goreng stock.

You NEED to learn the BASIC

To invest on anything, you need to KNOW

A) Right price to buy

B) Right price to sell

C) When to buy

D) When to sell

E) How you can make money

F) How you can lose money

If you cannot answer (A) to (F), you should not invest / gamble at all.
