New slider rails for N95?? Is it available at malaysia NSC, anyone knows?

"However finally there is a solution on the horizon, Christian from the SW blog sent his N95 to the Nokia Service Point to fix the wobbly slider and discovered that they have put new redesigned rails and that his N95 finally has a rock-solid slider!!!"

Hi. I am not officially in the N95 community yet however i am considering to get one. I am currently in the Uk and will be coming home soon. I just wanna ask about the slider and the zoom button issue which i have heard from the posts so far. Is it a problem which needs me to really be aware of? Thats coz i am a student in the UK and i will not be able to get the warranty to cover the faults.
Hope the N95 sifu's will be able to advise me on this. Coz if thats the case i will need to stick to the N82 which has a much solid construction but annoying keypad rclxub.gif

Hi bro, so far IMHO, i been using my N95 for the past month and i haven't encounter that said problem. Also when use i am very cafefuly not to open the close the slider hard or with force. I am not sure mine whether is the redesign rail for the slider, but seem quite solid at the moment. I seldom use the zoom button aswell, so far so good. N82 is not a bad phone... but design wise I prefer the slider cos everytime i pick up a call is by opening the slider, no more puny green button. Is a great phone with good multimedia capabilities and camera. thumbup.gif

Thanks for the info man. Hmm... just afraid that so happen i will be the unlucky 1 sweat.gif
I really seem to like both phones. Both have features just about the same as each other but i am afraid about the durability of the n95's design. As for the n82 i am not too keen with the shiny silver surface on its front fascia and the keypads might pose as an obstacle to overcome in a way.
Only way i guess is to really try out both handsets. Any more feedback???? thumbup.gif

Hey guys, I bought a new n95 a couple of days ago in Sydney. Unfortunately the phone does not support chinese characters... Is there a way so that my phone can support chinese script? My chinese songs titles all appear as boxes only.

GREAT News to all N95 user! New Firmware (again!?) will be available..
Read more here..

Mayor firmware update for N95 is on the way
Flash Lite 3 & Widget (webruntime) support added

I just got a tip from the very trusted source that new firmware version for the Nokia N95 is on the way and it going to be the major update because it will brings the Flash Lite 3 and Widget (web runtime)!

Yeah you read it right; I know that it is hard to believe but apparently two new and very promising mobile technologies coming to oldie Nokia N95 and even better, I got the full change log to prove that!!! Last time we got the demand paging and now with Flash Lite 3 and Widget support the classic Nokia N95 is the simply the best choice in my personal opinion.

New firmware version for Nokia N95, should be available soon on the NSU and will be available progressively at the official Nokia Points and Nokia Service Points in the next few days. I am not that much excided about playing the YoutTube movies directly from the browser as MobiTubia or emTube provides way be... ..

Anyway just get use to it at least no more loose see saw phone and a reminder is not under warrenty so don think they change for free and for those who is still under original warrenty they will charge RM200++ my suggestion is wait till ur phone flex ribbon break onli change. I change whole housing and cost me RM300++ so make ur calculation. Bout the firmware i wish nokia post it fast cause now V20 seems damm buggy sometimes hang in the sudden WTF!

Now the firmware is available on the net unfortunately is EURO firmware if u don use chinese just flash to it using crack PHOENIX i hope u heard of it b4.... I just flash to V21 EURO1 and i love it soo much the update is magnificent love the media player now the sound seems to be louder and the bass is nice compare to previous firmware on the headphone and the UI respond is abit faster compare with V20. I give it a top score. You can also check from nokia outlet for the update i think they should already have the update. This firmware is a must flash firmware. Now what i haven found out is wheater is battery wise not. Soon to find out hehehe. So my conclusion is just update to it. And a hint for those who want to have silent mode during camera capture go for EURO1 cause APAC cant cancel the capture sound produce by camera. (For those who like to take sneek photo go and flash EURO firmware biggrin.gif ) TRY IT!!!!!! JUST CHANGE IT!!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Lol how many of you willing to go nokia center to flash firmware? They took few hours to flash it. So i don bother bout it at all. I use phoenix to flash not by changing to product code plus i don really like NSU it once damage my N73 b4 and the worst thing is AP set they say is not under thier warrenty therefore now i choose original. I think nokia malaysia is flexible as long u are under warrenty u can choose what firmware u wan i guess plus i does not affect the hardware software is just minor problem i think they wont void unlike europe. Yeah EURO can not read chinese but u can use FONT ROUTER if u wan which u can customize ur font to make it readable thought i a chinese but i m not chinese educated so chinese is not a matter for me for those who always type message in chinese better wait for APAC update. And i don know did u all notice in APAC the font is not as nice as EURO wan just my observation. icon_idea.gif

I Definitely Notice That.. I Really Hate The "Bolded" Font In The APAC Firmware.. It Even Makes The "Search: Internet and My content" In The Active Standby To Occupy 2 Lines Instead Of 1. Do You Mean With Font Router, Euro Firmware N95 Can Read Chinese Too? (Write Is Not Important.. biggrin.gif)
