Take note that Garmin authenticates based on the SD card tiself, so if you have moved the garmin folder to another SD card, you will have to re-enter a new serial number to make it work with the new SD card. I wouldn't put the details here as it is against the TOS of this forum

My GMXT takes time to lock on my N95 how to do the settings? i am new to GMXT
mine is version 4.10 so where can i get updates? is it necessary? i am getting a very slow lock on A-GPS also...

n95 is better in terms can view more

but may crash more often because less RAM

currently da latest map for malsingmaps is 2.3 gold version n malfreemap is 1.40...

First time locking will be slow. Next lock will be a lot faster. Activate A-GPS too. On my N95, it lock in just 1-2 secs with A-GPS. Even if indoor, beside the windows.


Not true actually. Both same resolution, 320*240. Only bigger size screen and therefore pixel density on N82 smaller in comparison.

To avoid crash due to low memory, try Opera. Never crashed on me compared to frequent crash with default browser.

just updated the firmware on mine from v20 to v31.0.017 . and somehow , gps performance seems to have dropped tremendously ....

my GPS is okay. i just need to push the slider open. i got activate the A-GPS. and get locked by the satellite really fast. not more than 10 seconds.
i guess sending so little data, i still can afford...

and for the vibration problem i highlighted earlier, it's solved already. some how, maybe i've touched the vibration alert under profiles, and then now it works already! yay!

mine eventhough with agps on by a window, it still takes ages to lock

previously with the v20 firmware, without agps would only take like 40 seconds tops

just tested , built-in gps only , in drivers seat, 12 noon at outdoor parking lot , garmin took 3 and a half minutes to lock

wow, something definitely wrong. Without A-GPS, cold lock will take a couple of minutes, 3-5 minutes but hot lock will take few second to a minute top.

And i'm still using v21 with latest Garmin.

i reinstalled the latest firmware , then format the phone. cleared the memory card also . and finally it can get a lock in just below 2 minutes. but now agps can get a lock within 15 seconds

maybe the file IS corrupted . tried with any other sis files ?
