I've said many times, BD being close to winning the format war will not mean that HD media will cost more. Even BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) has said that their next focus is the challenge against standard definition DVD.

Just few days after Warners announcement, BD prices are dropping like crazy. Sometimes cheaper than regular DVD. We can expect more BD BOGO to come.

At Amazon.com:

"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" - RRP: $49.95, now selling at $23.99 (previously selling at around $36). Compare the price:

Cheaper than the DVD!!

And like arj said, the "Spider-Man Trilogy" is now down to $43.49 than their previous $60+ selling price. RRP is $92.95.

"Ratatouille" and "Cars", which are fairly new titles, now drops to $19.99 only.

Maybe there are more price drop for other titles, we just need to look for it. nod.gif

This is getting better and better. Thanks for the heads up Synco. I should get $16.92 back! This is so awesome. thumbup.gif

I have done it using their customer service help page. Much easier, you can link your query to the related order, and they should already know the details. Plus, saves me an international phone call. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Let's hope I an get it within 2-3 days. wink.gif

HD DVDs Fall Like Dominoes
by The New York Times

http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/10/h...-like-dominoes/

QUOTE
Nothing has been announced, but Variety is reporting that the last two major studios backing HD DVD - NBC Universal and Paramount - are opening the door for a switch to Blu-ray. These studios have commitments to release some discs this year in HD DVD, but both have ended their exclusive commitment to that format, which is backed by a group led by Toshiba.

*
You have to ask Warner Bros, New line and HBO for that! biggrin.gif

Don't worry about the poison, you'll have the antidote when your order arrives. tongue.gif

Whoa, I've just added so many titles into my cart blindly. But I will wait few days more, see if they drop the prices more. Not checking out yet!

OK2... just kidding la... biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Go to this page:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/g...Enabled=enabled

Make sure you login first. Select issue "Returns and refunds".

Click on "Email" tab, then "Choose order & Items".

Click left and right of "More orders" to select your order and titles that you want to refund (make sure you check the price you bought and the current price, that it is indeed dropped).

Make sure you bought that within a month or so, I don't think they can refund you for items you bought 3 months ago. Maybe Synco can enlighten us about this?

Then write by telling them that you noticed that the items so and so in your order numbers so and so has dropped, and ask them is it possible to get a price match.

Then say that you want a refund, or a store credit which you can use to buy more from them.

Say regards, and click send email. biggrin.gif

Or you can call them and follow the steps by Synco. wink.gif

so many titles in my cart now... mati aku... now is 3.35 for US rate?
*
i always go here for exchange rate:

http://finance.yahoo.com/currency

But VISA & Mastercard has their own rate, usually rounded to 1 decimal only.

Now I think it should be 3.3 only, because on the Yahoo! page it says 3.2565.

Hi Aiman,

You using the standard mail?

I've got experience with the Deutsche Post Global Mail (not sure about IMEX).

They declared the item as

Unknown x3
DVD x1

The declaration is slapped in front of the shipment box.

so may have possibility stopped by customs. but you should get the mail from pos klia if its stopped. weird
*
Yes, standard shipping. Been using that before, arrived about 10 days including 10 days. nod.gif

What more to say, sometimes I need to save money, not that kaya... tongue.gif

Only once in a while I use DHL, which, of course always arrive within 3-4 days without any problem. notworthy.gif

PS: I've not gotten any notice/mail/call from Pos Malaysia. So, not really sure if it's kastam issue or not.
