i just trying to see the different between PCM and Bitstream for Legacy DD/DTS.

sometimes DD/DTS still lights up on my 661.

haha, i think its has its own mind.

but as for PS3, it always MPCM

just finished watching The Game Plan.

the movie was funny! haha.. good for family entertainment. The Rock really can crack u up. the little girl is really cute.

Nice audio (PCM 5.1). but the sound seems quite dormant. but it really rocks your speakers when the football game scene were on. So i give the audio 4 stars

is never enuf, trust me. u will definitely end-up buying 'kick-as' receiver and speakers to enjoy HD audio once u already listen to its glory.

PS3 Dolby TrueHD & MPCM is sweet!

im not so fond of 2.0 profile. im more keen on internal decoding of DTS-HD MA. Thats what most count.

It entirely depends on your set-up. What receiver u currently have or planning to buy. If your receiver capable of decoding HD audios, it will much preferred to dedicate yourself to bitstreaming capable players (refer table above for players capable of bitstream)

Panasonic BD-30 is recommended (with new firmware update; LFE prob fix, this player is kickin ass). If you have more budget can go for higher priced one.


If your receiver cant decodes HD audio, what you could do is to find a player that could decodes internally and pass it out as MPCM. But beware, ur receiver must capable of processing PCM sources. If your receiver dont have HDMI audio in, you always could use multi-channel analogue in.

if u keen on profile 2.0 player, wait for new BD-50 or new sony.

but ask yourself, do u need profile 2.0?

trust me my friend, don't go for low-budget speakers. U have a monster 1800, if its okay, try go towards a decent pair of speakers. I can assure u, with good speakers, ur ass can be kicked hard! haha

tell me your budget, I'll try my best to accommodate u with recommendation.
