hehe... everytime I bring Kimi to visit vet, I can see heads will turn as I walked in... most of them are dog owners, so I look peculiar to them...
but normally I tried to be the 1st customer as I don't want to stress Kimi waiting in the long queues of cats and dogs... |

depends on your space and your ability... 2 rabbits not just increase the responsibilities but also the cost of maintenance too...
Kimi is alone and he's doing fine... even though I wanted 2 but my space does not allow me to... This post has been edited by stalkie: Jan 18 2008, 02:15 PM |

@abang brother, rabbit themselves does not smell... a lot people said rabbits are smelly, in fact they are not... is the pee that is smelly and if you keep them in poor condition like not toilet train them then their fur might get soaked with pee then they might be smelly...
they are in fact a clean animal, they like to clean themselves most of the time... so when they are dirty, give them time and they will be able to clean themselves provided they do not keep getting dirty... @mypetisabunny, make sure the powder you used is safe for animal... it might seems harmless but it might cause respiratory problem for them... |

teewai & v@larie, sorry to hear your loss
guys, most plant in that you placed in your house might not be safe for rabbit to nibble on... you need to find before you let them eat... aloe is under toxic plant for rabbit to consume, please keep it away from rabbit! Not all green is good for rabbit... you might the want to ask where to find such info, the link i gave to you guys in front is good place to start... please please and please, i beg of you guys to check out those info before letting your bunny wander around un-supervise.... please, for the sake of the rabbits.... Toxic Plants How I come across this site? Well, I was trying to find out which household I could use to clean and disinfect Kimi's cage and I as scroll around I saw rabbitproofing section and there I found out about plants at home... I thought they might seems harmless but not anymore... Anyway I found out that we can use Distilled Vinegar to clean your rabbit cage... mr.pipo, if you having hard time trying to buy a rabbit, do consider the cost of maintaining them... at times they are quite pricey also... big packet of good bedding litter cost about RM 50, big box of hay coz about RM 50 - 60 and good packet of pellets cost RM 20 onwards...
one time cost that you need to consider would be the cage, litter box, water bottle and maybe toys and etc.... not including the vet fees, least you need annual check-up should be less than RM 50 or so... neuter/spay cost some money too... FYI, rabbit can live up to 8-12 years if taken care properly... Hope you consider all these |

bedding is good for absorbing the pee and the smell away and also keep your rabbit clean as they will not step on the pee or what not...
hay is suppose to be the main food for domestic rabbit... feeding them with hay will not only guarantee good health in general but also prevent them from tooth problem as the gnawl those hay... there are other benefits too if you search at the first page... as a owner it's really up to you to decide what's best for your rabbit... |

inexsis, you can judge yourself whether the pellet is ok for your rabbit to consume... just check out the nutrient and have a look inside the packet... if you can't find kaytee then try hagen brand, I used to feed hagen to Kimi for a long time...
anyway, don't worry too much on the pellets coz to me, pellets are more like "supplement" for rabbit and you should put more concern to hay... coz in any case hay play the important factor of your rabbit's health... Added on January 30, 2008, 8:51 amRM 25 is for walk-in customer so those with member card gets 10% discount which about RM 23 We can't expect much coz Malaysia is slow in progressing... they are progressing but slowly This post has been edited by stalkie: Jan 30 2008, 08:51 AM |

saw your blog and I just want to point out that chocolate is toxic for rabbit... please provide only timothy hay and small amount of pellet as supplement...
vege and fruits are allowed but check on the first page for more information on which is safe for rabbit... try not to other than recommended... EDIT: I do have a blog but not entirely for my Kimi, there is a section for Kimi though... This post has been edited by stalkie: Jan 31 2008, 02:03 PM |
