QUOTE(river.sand @ Jun 18 2013, 04:04 PM) Wanna ask... Directors' remuneration - how much is too much? I am reading 2012 annual report of Bonia. Below is the remuneration for its directors... Bonia's profit after tax was ~RM45mil in 2012, and ~RM42mil in 2011. So, did the directors earn too much? Directors very over-paid. The top director earns over RM5m which is more than 10% of net profit of the whole company.

QUOTE(hyzam1212 @ Aug 27 2013, 03:33 PM) no u have to hold till after the ex-date...not advisable for short term play R U sure about this ? Example if dividend pay out ex-date is 10/09/13. Who gets the dividend then if U sell on the ex-date date (10/9/13) - if U don't get and the buyer also don't get since it's ex-date already ? I bought SBCCorp last Friday and this is thier announcement -
First and final dividend of 4.0% less 25% income tax for the year ended 31st March, 2013. Kindly be advised of the following : 1) The above Company's securities will be traded and quoted [ "Ex - Dividend" ] as from : [ 8 October 2013 ] 2) The last date of lodgement : [ 10 October 2013 ]
Since Ex-Dividend today, if I sell this stock, I will still be entitled to the dividend, right ?

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 9 2013, 02:38 PM) You won't, as the lowest one can key in the amount is RM7, aka a 30% movement limit for a trading day, so stop dreaming. Forget about the figures no making sense. OK, someone accidentally key in RM7 to sell Maybank and I grab it, is this trade legal ?

QUOTE(JeffreyYap @ Sep 9 2013, 05:45 PM) Of course, but trust me, if this actually happen, it is like you got "toto" 1st prize. *lol 1) when the seller keys in RM7, there are many people queuing before you(maybank daily movement is crazy, unless you say other "cold" stocks). 2) if he key in the price already, I think he will always monitor his/her "order book" to make correction before the trading start(8am). I thought trading hours are from 9am - 12.30pm and 2.30-5pm ?

QUOTE(all blacks @ Sep 24 2013, 04:32 PM) A quick question ppl, usually does AGM has major impact on the company's share price? Major, no. Minor, maybe if many who attended got "fired up" by the good news dished out by the directors and go on a major buying spree of the stock after the AGM.

QUOTE(all blacks @ Sep 25 2013, 12:49 AM) Thx for the reply! Was wandering if they would mention bout the companies future direction in terms of company take over n so on which might impact the share price.. Tats y I raised the previous question.. By the way is there any difference selling during T + 3 (Contra) n after Contra period? Was checking my statement and it's mentioned contra but I'm nt using the provided margin, wonder if there's any difference. Yes, if they think shareholders will view the news in a positive light. The directors will of course highlight all the good news while downplaying all bad news. They would not want shareholders to throw rotten eggs at them, right ?

For rights issues, normally we can apply for excess shares. Can the excess share application be partly successful, e.g. I apply for 2,000 excess shares, can the company give me 1,000 excess shares and refund the balance of the money or it's either I get 2,000 excess or nothing ?

QUOTE(plumberly @ Oct 3 2013, 11:57 AM) Read in a magazine that India has taken over Japan as the 3rd largest economy market. And will overtake USA and China later. A big plus for India is the population is not as urbanized yet like China and thus potential for further economy/market growth. Like to know whether there is any one here who has invested in India's shares? Some sharing on the good and bad? Thanks. I very much doubt India will ever overtake China. In population, maybe but economically, never.

Anyone able to answer my question about this rights issue ? As I need to decide how much excess share to apply for KARAMBUNAI CORP BHD. Rights are priced at RM0.10 per share but the currenct price is just RM0.105, but each right share will get 2 free warrant shares.

QUOTE(gark @ Oct 3 2013, 04:56 PM) Yes excess shares depend on how much unsubsribed shares are left. The company have the option to give you whatever amount up to your max excess subscription rate. Some times you get might a lot if it is not popular, or sometimes less or nothing... you can get even 100 share, even if you apply for 1 million lol...the worse one is get odd lots.. TQVM for your quick reply.

Is there a way to check where we are in the Q when we bid for shares ? That would be good to determine if we re-bid at a higher price is your Q is way down the line.

QUOTE(river.sand @ Nov 1 2013, 02:48 PM) No use for me, as I would only get odd lot... Not just for U as I think most will get odd lots if they subscribe to the dividend reinvestment plan. And odd lots are a headache as difficult to sell and brokerage fee is damn high, e.g. U might get 12 share of maybank and if U try to sell it at say RM9 for just RM108, U need to pay brokerage of like RM40.

QUOTE(luminaryxi @ Oct 30 2013, 11:55 PM) Ive read until page 10, 159 pages more to go! Btw guys ive 10k of saving for the moment, 5k of the 10k is in fd. 5k is in saving acccount. I dont know where to put this question. Is it correct what am doin here? Ie put in fd 1st and at the meantime study bout how to invest in stock market. How long do i need to read up before i can start trading? Plus shud i use the money i gonna save for downpayment for a apartment or dwell with stocks? Any advice is hiighly appreciated. Thanks ! Dabbling in shares is risky, especially for newbies, so U should only use money U can afford to lose, so using money meant for downpayment for a flat is not wise.

QUOTE(Hapeng @ Nov 4 2013, 09:30 AM) well if you're trying to sell then i guess it might be a headache. if like me you'd just want to keep reinvesting the dividends then why not? Fully agree with U if U intend to invest long term, using div to buy share is cheaper as no trading cost.

QUOTE(Leon|| @ Mar 18 2014, 08:47 PM) Within the same stock, can I sell the total volume with difference price? Let's say I holding shares A volume 100 units:- - at 100 units @ $0.30 - then key in sell again for 100 units @ $0.30 Workable method for this? I think U might get into big trouble if both your sell orders are successful as U do not hold any shares when U sell the 2nd time. I think U're breaking bursa rules by doing short selling.... sell when U do not have the shares.
