hi every1 .. i am a having a hardtime deciding which projector to get... 1st of all i am from kedah... up to now i only read reviews to short list my choices... i also have a tight budget.. n being greedy i want a full hd projector:).. my max budget is rm9k... there r no av shops in kedah.. n very few av shops carry ready stock projector in pg... so far i have shortlisted 3 projectors n hope the sifus here to gift me some pointers..

1) epson tw1000 .. rm7500 (including shipping) with 2 years international warranty.. from overseas
2) sanyo z2000.. rm8XXX local shop with 1 year warranty
3) epson tw2000.. rm9100... NO warranty.. from overseas

i know normally the advice is to view the projector myself.. but the problem i have no time to go kl to view the projectors... i am leaning towards epson tw1000 mainly because of the price... I dont hear many talking about how good epson tw1000 is .. just wondering if any have u have tested it or owns 1...

i have tested the z2000 in sg n although in most reviews they say z2000 is not very bright but i feel its bright enuf for me for a noob like me..

Some sifus have suggested the panny ae2000 but its out of my budget.. can any1 get panny below rm9k pls let me know pls...

Thanx alot in advance to u guys for the help.. if u know any full hd projector that falls into my budget pls feel free to suggest to me ok..

thanks ht kaki... i saw it b4 but i am looking for lcd.. kamsiah anyway... it's all those slaughter house av shops that really spoil my mood shopping.. called pg last week the shop is only selling sanyo n he pushed z5 to me at rm6500 shakehead.gif and z2000 at rm11000 rclxub.gif and they r not the only shop that gives me ridiculous prices.. ... thats y i thought the newer generation 720p is around rm6k mark...

i guess now that i know the latest generation of 720p is around 5k i should stick to 720p since i am not watching blu film... i mean blu disc:) Thanx again to all the pj sifus for the advice

woohoo! finally bought my pj.. optoma super value meal.. optoma hd65.. for the price i really have nothing to complain.. i do see rainbow effect few times per show.. but again the price for this pj has really tamed the rainbow effects on me:)... this pj ROCKS!...i need to tune down the brightness abit coz its too bright on my white wall even on a low lamp mode... not going to buy a screen yet until i have a proper gua kelawar.. if any poor new comers who wants a 1080p yet couldnt wait for the price drop should buy this 1st... the size of the pj is tiny so i am not sure if heat is going to be an issue.. i watched 2 movies last nite no problem but my aircon happens to be blowing at my pj ..seating just 2 feet i can hear the fan.. but the price of the pj managed to tune down the fan noise easily:) ... Half the price of my lcd TV with double the enjoyment but the result is the same = dont know when baru can settle the credit card bill

wah what large LCD TV you got? 40-46inch? twice the price of a 720 DLP projector?
*
40 inch only.. samsung.. near 6k nia not really double... optoma 3.6k la.. so roughly double lo.. at the moment its projected on a 10 year old dritywhite paint wall with some lizard droppings hhehe.. so any shortcomings of the pj i just blame the wall heheh

if you want cheap, go macys and get blackout cloth lor.. (it's white (the other side grey) plastic cloth material like the stuff mamak or low end restaurants wrap on the plastic tables)... I think 30-40bucks only (can make 80-100inch screen), then use transparent or black packing tape to tape the perimeter to your wall.. there's your screen...  biggrin.gif
*
kamsiah for your advice bro... but i am moving house in 2 months time.. i think just wait till new house baru buy diy screen...

surely will since there would be new models by then.

Planning to get one?  brows.gif

Btw, Mitsu 5500 aint that convincing for the price that it demands here. Probably it may be due to the setting w/o using DVE. I find that the black suffers from slight smudging (smearing) in dark scenes. The transition from bright to dark scene aint as smooth as I thought.

This pj is very quiet compares to Infocus X10, which I auditioned earlier. Color is a tad too vibrant. No issue here as it can be tone down. I have yet to test out the Panny AE3000, which is almost at the same price range.
*
boss, all the reviews said mitsubishi is has super sharp pics.. izt really that obvious.. and just to confirm with u pana warranty for bulb is 2weeks right?

quite crappy bulb warranty for panasonic.

here they're giving 1 year or 1000hours (whichever comes first) bulb warranty for panasonic.
*
r u sure bro? if 1 year then its not crappy at all.. 1000hours to me is excelent warranty liao.. i assumed 2weeks coz htkaki stated 2weeks for bulb.. i dont even know how long is the warranty for other brands of pj bulb... but i read epson tw2000 has excellent warranty overseas but malaysia maybe crap warranty with ultra high price too

think the new epsons are TW-3800 and TW-5000, the 5000 being the superior one. they still gives the 3yrs or 1700hrs warranty on the bulb.
*
and how muchy r we looking at for tw3800 n tw5000... have u confirmed with epson malaysia for the warranty?
