Hi all! In the most recent Metal Gear Monday post, I mentioned that we were working on a Metal Gear Online Beta-related surprise this week. As the Beta nears its end this weekend, we are pleased to be able to offer a very special, one-time opportunity to the top ranking participants.

A select number of top clans will receive an invite to play the MGO Beta competitively against the Konami team. The invites will start going out tonight (Wednesday May 7, 2008) through tomorrow morning, via the MGO Beta in-game mail system, to the selected clan leaders. If you receive an invite, Konami will communicate with you regarding your entry status, steps to participate, and scheduling of the match should your clan be selected. Invites will be coming from me personally, my character, named simply, “Brandon”. Do not communicate with or provide any information to anyone else who may claim to be representing Konami.

The matches will take place tomorrow night Thursday May 8, 2008 starting at 7pm PST. If you qualify for entry, your clan will be given a time slot between 7pm PST and 9pm PST. We will also provide match details in advance. Matches will be 5v5, 5 on the Konami team, so if your clan has more than 5 members, you will need to select and coordinate who will be playing.

The Videogame music database has posted the entire track listing for Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

The listing alludes to various events taking place in the game, so for those of you who do not wish to be spoiled, please do not proceed any further.

As with previous instalments, the prestigious Harry Gregson-Williams is helming the score, with notable contributions from Nobuko Toda, Shuichi Kobori, Kazuma Jinnouchi, Yoshitaka Suzuki, Takahiro Izutani, Akihiro Honda and Sota Fujimori.

that's good. You're probably right, given the history of MGS. Still, I'm a-gonna save myself to maximize the WOW effect . Nearly bought a 360, thank god I checked the price for ps3 during that time. I thought it was still way more expensive than a 360. Why settle for a 360 when I can have a ps3?

Anyone here replayed MGS1? I found that the graphics quality really very bad. Image looks very pixellated. It don't seem that bad when I was playing it on the original PS.

New-generation graphical techniques like HDR (for realistic lighting), antialiasing (for sharper visuals), and post-production filters (for color saturation effects) make Metal Gear Solid 4 an example of bleeding-edge game production. High-resolution character models add even more detail, allowing you to see skin grain and armor scratches when viewing Snake up close.

Visually, Metal Gear Solid 4 is even more striking on the console than it has been in released trailers. We always had a sense that what Kojima was showing us was incredible footage, but the detail within the game itself is simply breathtaking.
