Great news !!! She is back.     

I am trying to look for her again just now. Suddenly I see the curtain moves.

She is there trying to climb back up to the table where the cage is. That is a 1.5 feet high table.

I think she must be hungry.

Penang very cheap only. Syrians only RM7. Robos RM15. WW and RC can't remember but cheaper than in KL.

We bought 4 syrians from CTY Penang.

Should avoid giving cabbage to ur hamster bro... It will cause gastitis or bladder trouble... means they hardly BERAK lol....
Also take note.... avoid tomato, pickles, chocolate,  orange, potato tops, rhubarb, onion and garlic since acidic foods  are not good for your hamster.

Yea giving veggies is a good step. But do consider wether these veggies are suitable or not.... Cabbage is not recommended...

After changed the bedding on Fri nitght. My lovely hamster gave birth to 5 pups last night.
No wonder she was busy tearing and moving the toilet paper I put in after changed the bedding.
I thought she need another week before giving birth since the mating only took place on 29th Feb.
   

Both are females. But one is rather alpha-female, the other is quite meek.

Anyway I've gotten a Habitrail Mini for Itchy (the alpha female). She seems really happy with her new playground. Was exploring it in and out non stop. Maybe someday I'll put a connector between the two cages and see if they can take to it well, since now each have their own "territory" already. See how it goes lah.

Yeah I am aware of that. Actually, I had two hamsters years ago who managed to get along well, even though when they were younger they fought here and there and I had to separate-reintroduce-separate-reintroduce till they got used to each other. So I know the steps to reintroduce hamsters, like mixing the bedding, putting them together for few minutes a day and increasing the time they spend together and all.

But this is the first time I see a hamster soooo utterly terrified of the other when it lost a fight. So I'm not so sure if reintroducing will work.

But I figured that at the worst case scenario if the connector doesn't work. I'll leave them separate and use the connector for something else, like a loft or outpost or what not.

I thought it will take about 20 days but suddenly last night I heard the pups sounds. It can't be earlier because I put the male in on the night of 28th Feb.
Most of the articles said around 21 days but some did says from 15-21 days.
Luckily I didnt wait another 3 days to change the bedding because I notice the mother was playing with the water and the bedding was wet.
I actually place the cage next to the wall and cover half of the cage with newspaper to give her some privacy.
I have another 2 cage place infront of that cage so that it wont get disturb.

hahaha... I only manage to peek at it today and there are 5 pups. All still pinky lah. Old people saying, now is the best time with the stout if you have internal injury.

today is such a sad day for me... one of my hamster just passed away.I feel sad because i wasn there by my hamster side
I had morning class today and when i got back later.I saw one of my hamster lying down,eyes open..i was slightly shock and when i poke him,he's not alive anymore
I feel so heavy thinking about this,is like i just played with him and i cant play with him anymore.
Now,when i look at my other hamster,i'll think of my Bezi(my hammy tht passed away today)....

Bezi,i hope you'll have a better life in heaven now,..i'll miss you everyday....

pardon me for asking, did u rmb to feed him? cos i had a friend that forgot to feed his WW for 2 days! n when i went to his place i discovered him lying dead, very very skinny.. i was very upset over this.. but this serves as a reminder to us that if u're keeping hamster/any pets / plan to keep them, please be a responsible n caring owner.. always remember to feed them n check them every now n then ya~

Wow... Sappy is a nice cinnamon banded. Baby is also a solid sable. Hammy looks like a golden banded...    

All very nice color. Me and sangels are looking for solid or banded dove. Very nice color.

Sigh... one of my banded dove escaped.... still no sign of her. Then Jumpers is sick, not eating and drinking.... now forcing more veggie and also vitamin water. Fur loss too... poor boy.

Hope you can find your banded dove back. I like that color very much    

Alot of the blacks here are either silvered or diluted... pure black is really black. So black till very hard to see the dorsal stripe. No hints or highlights of brown... white markings under the chin and a neck plus on the paws is good. Hahaha... I'm still looking for this. I found one at Petaling Street.... but it was a bitey and aggressive fellow.

I still haven't found the missing one yet.... my escaped rat is running around my house, haven't trap it yet LOL. Yesterday my brother caught back my escaped baby leopard gecko. Many of my pets like to escape and play hide and seek with me.... sigh....

Not many people appreciate RC and Syrians.... but nice to see more people into Syrians now. You should go to Singapore, so many nice colours of Syrians there. Sad that I didn't bring any back 

RC is the only dwarf hamster that comes in a variety of colours....

as far as I know any animals coming in to the country need 2 weeks quarentine. So, you have to hide it  if driving in.   

By the way, my 5 days old baby hamster can see the color. 4 following the daddy which is Agouti and 1 following mommy which is Agente.
