QUOTE(d100200 @ Mar 13 2008, 11:05 PM) Great news !!! She is back. I am trying to look for her again just now. Suddenly I see the curtain moves. She is there trying to climb back up to the table where the cage is. That is a 1.5 feet high table. I think she must be hungry. Glad to hear that... take good care of her ya, don't let her escape anymore...

QUOTE(-Nos- @ Mar 16 2008, 08:10 PM) Should avoid giving cabbage to ur hamster bro... It will cause gastitis or bladder trouble... means they hardly BERAK lol.... Also take note.... avoid tomato, pickles, chocolate, orange, potato tops, rhubarb, onion and garlic since acidic foods are not good for your hamster. Added on March 16, 2008, 8:12 pmYea giving veggies is a good step. But do consider wether these veggies are suitable or not.... Cabbage is not recommended... Thanks for the advise tooo.... next time i shall ask each time i wanna feed them vegies...

QUOTE(djspinnet @ Mar 16 2008, 06:55 PM) Both are females. But one is rather alpha-female, the other is quite meek. Anyway I've gotten a Habitrail Mini for Itchy (the alpha female). She seems really happy with her new playground. Was exploring it in and out non stop. Maybe someday I'll put a connector between the two cages and see if they can take to it well, since now each have their own "territory" already. See how it goes lah. Glad to know that Itchy is ok now.... Added on March 16, 2008, 9:49 pmQUOTE(djspinnet @ Mar 16 2008, 09:13 PM) Yeah I am aware of that. Actually, I had two hamsters years ago who managed to get along well, even though when they were younger they fought here and there and I had to separate-reintroduce-separate-reintroduce till they got used to each other. So I know the steps to reintroduce hamsters, like mixing the bedding, putting them together for few minutes a day and increasing the time they spend together and all. But this is the first time I see a hamster soooo utterly terrified of the other when it lost a fight. So I'm not so sure if reintroducing will work. But I figured that at the worst case scenario if the connector doesn't work. I'll leave them separate and use the connector for something else, like a loft or outpost or what not. Since WW hamsters can live alone, might as well just separate them rather than having them to fight and terrified...This post has been edited by hooverbell: Mar 16 2008, 09:49 PM

QUOTE(abang brother @ Mar 16 2008, 10:17 PM) Hoover, hows your rodents? Hi Abang Brother, my rodents are good... active only at nite... kekekekee.... day time will wake up a while to eat, then sleep again... basically only eat and sleep whole day except nite time... QUOTE(d100200 @ Mar 16 2008, 11:08 PM) Thanks all for the greetings. Jayniel: I thought it will take about 20 days but suddenly last night I heard the pups sounds. It can't be earlier because I put the male in on the night of 28th Feb. Most of the articles said around 21 days but some did says from 15-21 days. Luckily I didnt wait another 3 days to change the bedding because I notice the mother was playing with the water and the bedding was wet. I actually place the cage next to the wall and cover half of the cage with newspaper to give her some privacy. I have another 2 cage place infront of that cage so that it wont get disturb. -Nos- : hahaha... I only manage to peek at it today and there are 5 pups. All still pinky lah. Old people saying, now is the best time with the stout if you have internal injury. hooverbell: Will post pics later. Maybe after 10 days. Don't want to distrb them now. I have more than enuff space. Whether to part with them or not still not decided yet. hmm, about that old people saying, yeah, i heard that before.... even my mom said my grandpa did that but i've never met my grandpa before...
really eager to see those pups... will wait for your pics then!

QUOTE(jayniel @ Mar 17 2008, 03:46 PM) u from melaka? jonker walk got sell wat hamster species? went there a few months back but din c any hamsters.. maybe i 'sesat' inside the jonker walk lol..
i'm not from malacca, my bf is from malacca... so once in a while i will follow him back... so far most of the hamsters i saw was syrians... maybe coz i never pay attention to dwarfs...
they are located quite front, counting from the 1st stall where this man alwys has his show of punching the coconuts with his thumbs trying to sell some medicated oils...
i guess is quite easy to spot them, other than hamsters, they have cages of spiders, rabbits...

QUOTE(jayniel @ Mar 18 2008, 05:39 PM) sorry to hear that, RIP to him.. pardon me for asking, did u rmb to feed him? cos i had a friend that forgot to feed his WW for 2 days! n when i went to his place i discovered him lying dead, very very skinny.. i was very upset over this.. but this serves as a reminder to us that if u're keeping hamster/any pets / plan to keep them, please be a responsible n caring owner.. always remember to feed them n check them every now n then ya~ hhhmmm...... if i see that happening, i will cry looo i think this kinda person don't really love the hamsters, that's why they don't pay attention also to them....

Added on March 20, 2008, 9:48 amQUOTE(sangels @ Mar 19 2008, 11:30 PM) HHmm, im still wondering how is the colour of a banded dove...
do you have one? QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Mar 20 2008, 02:01 AM) Alot of the blacks here are either silvered or diluted... pure black is really black. So black till very hard to see the dorsal stripe. No hints or highlights of brown... white markings under the chin and a neck plus on the paws is good. Hahaha... I'm still looking for this. I found one at Petaling Street.... but it was a bitey and aggressive fellow. Wahhh, you guys talk until i blur blur la... dorsal stripe la... white markings laaa... silvered or diluted laaa...
still have aloooooot to learn about hamsters i guess... whahhahahaaaQUOTE(-Nos- @ Mar 20 2008, 02:03 AM) petaling street gt variety rc? found opal rc? later i post my new hammy pic.. hey, this is a very nice colour, but the pic is a bit blur... can try to get a nicer pic and share with us?? would like to see the real colour of this cuttie! QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Mar 20 2008, 03:40 PM) Hahaa.... I'll take a pic of my banded dove to show you. I still haven't found the missing one yet.... my escaped rat is running around my house, haven't trap it yet LOL. Yesterday my brother caught back my escaped baby leopard gecko. Many of my pets like to escape and play hide and seek with me.... sigh.... Not many people appreciate RC and Syrians.... but nice to see more people into Syrians now. You should go to Singapore, so many nice colours of Syrians there. Sad that I didn't bring any back RC is the only dwarf hamster that comes in a variety of colours.... Hahahaa... all escaping from you ahh?? hahahaa, wei, your cat didn't go play with them ah while they go escape?? hhhaa...
Ya, not many ppl into Syrians but i like Syrians more...
Can bring hamsters back from S'pore??
